Unveiling the New Queen Sirikit National Convention Center 2022
The Queen Sirikit National Convention Center (QSNCC) has announced its readiness to become “The Ultimate World Class Event Platform for All”. It revealed that a number of international events are interested in relocating their venues from abroad to create a new event profile at the Sirikit Center, confident that it will elevate the image of the Thai event business to a leadership position in Asia.
Mr. Sakchai Patthaprichakul, Managing Director of N.C.C. Management and Development Co., Ltd. stated, “The return of the newly renovated Sirikit Center, with its potential to accommodate events of all types and cater to every lifestyle, is expected to attract over 13 million visitors annually, an increase from the 6 million visitors per year before the renovation. Our intention is not just to be a convention center but to become the ultimate event platform. After the official launch of the new Sirikit Center in September, we are confident that many new event formats and profiles will be hosted here, which will help promote and elevate the Thai event business to an international level.”
“Our company is highly committed to developing the Sirikit Center into a space that creates positive impacts for all Thai people, driving the overall economy of the country, including related businesses such as events, hotels, shopping centers, and public transportation systems, all of which will benefit from the expansion of the MICE industry. The number of event organizers and visitors at the center will increase significantly, leading to more job opportunities. Additionally, it will create value for the surrounding community, which can utilize this space in various ways.”

With the goal of being more than just a “convention center” and accommodating more than just MICE events, the new Sirikit Center has been designed to meet these needs. It features flexible spaces that can host multiple events simultaneously and facilitate logistics and transportation of all types of exhibits, directly connected to the MRT subway for easy access to the event areas. Moreover, it prioritizes safety, quality of life, and environmental standards. With the capabilities of the new Sirikit Center, it has gained the trust of international event organizers, bringing new event profiles from various countries to Thailand for the first time, such as:
- Asia Pacific Leather Fair or APLF, a leading global leather goods exhibition, typically held in Hong Kong, scheduled for October 19-21, 2022.
- ASIA FRUIT LOGISTICA, an international exhibition for fruits and vegetables in the Asia region, previously held in Hong Kong, scheduled for November 2-4, 2022.
- Jewellery & Gem ASEAN Bangkok (JGAB), a grand exhibition of gemstones that includes trade, seminars, and educational activities for buyers and suppliers from around the world, previously held in Singapore, scheduled for November 2-5, 2022.
In addition to these events, over 160 events, both domestic and international, have confirmed to be held at the Sirikit Center from its reopening until the end of 2023, including MICE events and lifestyle events. Notable events include the “T-Pop Concert Fest” featuring top Thai pop artists such as PP Biu-Kin, the girl group “4EVE”, and Boki Lion on October 29-30, 2022, and the largest gaming festival in Southeast Asia, “Thailand Game Show”, on October 21-23, 2022. Another highlight for the Sirikit Center is hosting the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit from November 13-18, 2022.
Another significant highlight of the Sirikit Center in its journey to become The Ultimate Inspiring World Class Event Platform for All is the retail zone under the concept of “Bangkok Active Lifestyle Mall” (BALM), the first of its kind in Bangkok, covering over 11,000 square meters. BALM will add vibrancy and complement the new Sirikit Center in the heart of Bangkok, attracting diverse lifestyles both domestically and internationally, transforming the Rama 4 - Ratchada area into a bustling meeting place filled with various retail shops, including restaurants, cafes, convenience stores, pharmacies, sports equipment stores, and IT product retailers.
