Mr. Tatiya Sorasothikul, Managing Director of Seacon Development Public Company Limited, which operates Seacon Bangkae Shopping Center, revealed after the easing of COVID-19 restrictions that the overall retail business is beginning to recover. The company is therefore advancing its business strategy to accommodate the returning purchasing power by providing new experiences. Recently, Seacon Bangkae has gained the trust of Don Don Donki, a leading retail store from Japan, to open a new branch covering an area of 2,400 square meters. This marks the first branch in Thonburi and the second collaboration following the Donki branch at Seacon Square Srinakarin, which launched in October 2021. The company is confident that it will receive an excellent response from customers in the western Bangkok area.

“Throughout 2022, the Seacon shopping center group will collaborate with business partners to create new shopping experiences after consumers were restricted in their purchasing behavior due to the COVID-19 pandemic. With the potential of the location of Seacon Bangkae, we have gained confidence from leading brands both domestically and internationally to open spaces that offer a new shopping joy to consumers, which clearly adds vibrancy to the retail scene in Thonburi,” said Mr. Tatiya Sorasothikul.

The “Don Don Donki Seacon Bangkae” branch is located on the first floor of Seacon Bangkae Shopping Center and is open daily from 9:00 AM to midnight, offering free parking and is conveniently located near the MRT Phasi Charoen station. There are plans to extend the opening hours to 24 hours in the future, continuing to share the charm of Japanese food and culture under the concept of “Real DONKI.” The store features interior decor resembling Japan's Don Quijote stores, providing a feeling of being in Japan, with hand-painted signs and a wide variety of products arranged to give customers an authentic “Don Quijote” experience. The store will also be decorated with images of Don Quijote stores in Japan to enhance the feeling of being in Japan. In addition to food products, the store will offer kitchenware and consumer goods, aiming to be a convenient shopping destination for everyone in their daily lives.
