Asset World Corporation Public Company Limited (AWC), a Thai real estate developer focused on comprehensive lifestyle solutions, has signed an agreement with InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) to prepare a new development plan aimed at enhancing the diversity of its hotel and lifestyle tourism portfolio, reaffirming confidence in the Thai tourism industry. The latest development is the Kimpton Hua Hin Resort, designed to create a unique and memorable experience for tourists, with plans to open in 2024.

This contract signing strengthens the long-standing partnership between AWC and IHG, a global leader in the hotel business. This collaboration is aimed at preparing for the growth of tourism, particularly for families and business travelers, following the country's reopening, which will bolster and elevate Thailand's tourism sector.

Naowalapa Traisorat, CEO and Managing Director of Asset World Corporation Public Company Limited (AWC), stated, "AWC believes that Thailand's tourism industry remains strong and will continue to grow in the long term. Therefore, we are moving forward to enhance Thailand's tourism potential to become one of the world's premier travel destinations. This collaboration with IHG will diversify our hotel and service portfolio while maintaining world-class quality and service standards to meet the new lifestyle needs of our customers as the country reopens."

“Kimpton is an intriguing brand, known for its unique design and world-renowned restaurants and bars, making it highly suitable for a tourist destination like Hua Hin. This is also a great opportunity to elevate Hua Hin as a popular lifestyle destination. We are confident that partnering with a global leader like IHG will allow us to jointly raise the standards of Thailand's tourism industry, providing impressive and unique experiences for both domestic and international travelers,” Naowalapa added.

The Kimpton Hua Hin Resort will be the fourth Kimpton hotel in Thailand, featuring over 124 rooms and set to open in 2024. The Kimpton brand is part of IHG's Luxury & Lifestyle portfolio, which has gained popularity and rapidly grown since its first launch in Bangkok in 2020, known for its excellent service standards, distinctive design, and renowned dining options.

The Kimpton Hua Hin Resort is a complete transformation of the Imperial Hua Hin Hotel, which closed in May 2019. The hotel is located on a beautiful beachfront, allowing guests to fully enjoy the four restaurants and bars available. It will also feature a swimming pool, fitness center, spa, and spaces for meetings or lifestyle events, making it ideal for family vacations and pet-friendly stays, along with a menu that beautifully blends local culture, creating memorable experiences for both Thai and international tourists.

This contract signing is part of a long-standing strategic collaboration between IHG and AWC, aimed at developing the hotel portfolio in Thailand with a goal of creating over 1,200 rooms, including 302 rooms at the InterContinental Chiang Mai Mae Ping, set to open this year. This partnership is significant, following the announcement of three contracts signed last year, which included two hotels in the heart of Bangkok's Chinatown: the InterContinental Hotel and The Vignette Collection Chinatown, as well as The Vignette Aquatique Pattaya, a new hotel in Pattaya, part of The Vignette Collection under IHG.

Serena Lim, Vice President of Business Development for Southeast Asia and Korea at IHG, said, "We are extremely pleased to partner with AWC to bring our shared vision for the Kimpton Hua Hin Resort to life. This signing marks the fourth Kimpton in Thailand, following Kimpton Malai Bangkok, Kimpton Kitalay Samui, and Kimpton Khao Yai, which will strengthen the brand's presence in Thailand and globally, as well as establish it as a popular choice for travelers seeking unique stay experiences."

“Currently, there are over 30 IHG hotels operating in Thailand, with more than 30 under development. We are proud to continue working with AWC to create sustainable growth together in the coming years. We also see many opportunities in Thailand with the return of tourism. According to the latest IHG statistics, Hua Hin is one of the top 10 most searched destinations in Thailand by international travelers. We expect the Kimpton Hua Hin Resort to achieve rapid success and are excited to welcome guests from both domestic and international markets in 2024,” Serena added.

AWC is confident that continuing its long-standing collaboration with IHG will help create a better and more sustainable future through the signing of this development agreement for the world-class luxury Kimpton Hua Hin Resort, catering to the lifestyle of travelers while supporting the growth of the tourism business under the mission to create a better future for Thailand's tourism industry.
