Fiscal Policy Office (FPO) Weekly Regional Economic Situation Report as of December 9, 2021 is as follows:
Durable goods consumption, as reflected by the number of newly registered passenger cars in November 2021, decreased at a slower rate compared to the previous month across all regions. However, the number of newly registered motorcycles increased in all regions.
(1) The number of newly registered passenger cars in November 2021 decreased by -12.2%
(2) The number of newly registered motorcycles in November 2021 increased by 20.2%

➢ The number of newly registered passenger cars in November 2021 was 39,706 units, a decrease of -12.2% year-on-year (but when seasonally adjusted, it shows an increase of 27.8% month-on-month). Details include:
1) In the Northeast region, there was a decrease of -0.8% year-on-year from the previous month, which had a decrease of -26.1% year-on-year. However, the provinces of Nong Khai, Khon Kaen, and Ubon Ratchathani were able to show growth.
2) In the Eastern region, the decrease slowed to -6.1% year-on-year from the previous month, which had a decrease of -30.6% year-on-year. However, the provinces of Trat, Chanthaburi, and Chonburi were able to show growth.
3) In the Western region, there was a decrease of -8.3% year-on-year from the previous month, which had a decrease of -20.3% year-on-year. However, the provinces of Kanchanaburi and Phetchaburi were able to show growth.

➢ The number of newly registered motorcycles in November 2021 was 159,243 units, an increase of 20.2% year-on-year (but when seasonally adjusted, it shows an increase of 27.5% month-on-month). Details include:
1) In the Eastern region, there was an increase of 37.2% year-on-year from the previous month, which had an increase of 6.2% year-on-year. The provinces of Chonburi, Rayong, and Trat showed the best growth.
2) In the Northeast region, there was an increase of 22.0% year-on-year from the previous month, which had a decrease of -16.1% year-on-year. The provinces of Maha Sarakham, Buriram, and Nakhon Ratchasima showed the best growth.
3) In the Western region, there was an increase of 20.7% year-on-year from the previous month, which had a decrease of -16.0% year-on-year. The provinces of Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, Chai Nat, and Sing Buri showed the best growth.
