"Frasers Property" Reveals Over 60% Progress on New Queen Sirikit Center Construction, Set to Open in September 2022
"Frasers Property Thailand" has announced that the development of the "new Queen Sirikit Center" is over 60% complete. This new development spans a total area of 300,000 square meters, which is five times larger than before, equivalent to more than 50 football fields. It will feature five key highlights to differentiate itself and establish it as the premier convention center in Thailand, aiming to be The Ultimate Inspiring World Class Event Platform for All. The company is confident it will deliver the space on schedule for the opening in September 2022.

Mr. Withawat Koottatep, Senior Executive Vice President of Commercial Development at Frasers Property Commercial (Thailand) stated that the company is leveraging its experience, expertise, modern technology, and international knowledge from the Frasers Property group to develop the new Queen Sirikit Center, which will be modern and highly secure, meeting international standards to accommodate all types of events, including major global conferences. The goal is to create a new world-class convention center in Asia, designed with the concept of continuity, preservation, and enhancement, increasing the total area to 300,000 square meters, which is five times larger than before, equivalent to more than 50 football fields.

Although this project faces challenges due to the constraints of developing a large-scale project with many details, including enhancing the project's capacity by adding over 45% of the total area for retail space and parking for up to 3,000 vehicles, as well as a lockdown of the construction site for nearly 60 days.
However, the company has managed to maintain a solid construction plan, with over 60% progress achieved through collaboration among professional teams and proactive management, ensuring that the project will be delivered on time for the opening in September 2022.

Accessibility
Located in the heart of the city on Ratchadapisek Road, connecting Rama 4-Ratchada intersection, accessible from four major roads in Bangkok: Rama 4 Road, Sukhumvit Road, Ratchadapisek Road, and Duangpitak Road. Additionally, it connects directly to the MRT subway station at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center.

Sustainability
The first and only convention center in Thailand to achieve LEED Silver certification, with development planning from start to finish, emphasizing the use of environmentally friendly materials over 25% and recyclable materials over 75%. The project will feature solar panels installed throughout and automated equipment to reduce electricity and water consumption. Additionally, it is the only convention center surrounded by the newest green space in Bangkok, "Benjakitti Forest Park."
