Q-Chang Partners with the Department of Skill Development to Enhance Construction and Electrical Skills, Strengthening SCG HOME's Business
Q-Chang, a business under Nexter Digital Co., Ltd., which is invested in by SCG Distribution Co., Ltd., has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Department of Skill Development to launch a project aimed at developing the skills of construction and electrical workers, as well as creating a platform to find quality craftsmen. This collaboration not only focuses on enhancing the skills of Thai craftsmen but also aims to create job opportunities for them through the digital platforms “Q-Chang” and “Ruang Chang.” Additionally, it serves as a crucial strategy to strengthen SCG HOME as a Key Strategic Partner of Q-Chang.

Mr. Bhan Kasemsap, Managing Director of SCG Distribution Co., Ltd., which oversees the SCG HOME Retail & Distribution Business, said that the company has previously announced a collaboration plan with “Q-Chang” and “Design Connext” as Key Strategic Partners to combine efforts in delivering the best experience covering all home-related needs, from construction, renovation, extension, repair, to post-occupancy services. This has resulted in SCG HOME offering the most comprehensive home services in Thailand, facilitating and simplifying the home-building experience for homeowners.
Q-Chang serves as a Key Strategic Partner of SCG HOME, enhancing the strengths of the Home Service offerings, which include services after homeowners have moved in, such as air conditioning installation and cleaning, and water heater installation. The collaboration between SCG HOME and Q-Chang originated from Q-Chang being a startup under Nexter Digital Co., Ltd., which SCG Distribution Co., Ltd. has invested in.
The collaboration between Q-Chang and the Department of Skill Development aims to enhance the skills of construction workers, such as tile installers, plumbers, and electricians, while creating job opportunities for craftsmen through the digital platforms “Q-Chang” and “Ruang Chang.” The Department of Skill Development will promote and invite craftsmen who have undergone training and passed the national skill standards to register on the “Q-Chang” platform to join the Q-Chang team network, increasing their job opportunities. This collaboration will not only enhance SCG HOME's network of knowledgeable and skilled craftsmen but also improve service coverage nationwide, thereby increasing SCG HOME's service capabilities. Craftsmen joining the Q-Chang team, a key partner of SCG HOME, will also see an increase in income, leading to an improved quality of life.
“The main goal of this collaboration is to elevate the quality of living for Thai people while simultaneously improving the quality of life for craftsmen within the Q-Chang network. This partnership is expected to create long-term sustainability for all involved parties,”

Meanwhile, Mr. Sanit Phubupha, Managing Director of Nexter Digital Co., Ltd., the provider of the “Q-Chang” platform, stated that under this collaboration framework, Q-Chang will develop training courses for construction and electrical workers in conjunction with the Department of Skill Development, providing tools, equipment, training materials, instructors, and training budgets. The Department will support training venues and issue certificates to those who complete the training. Additionally, Q-Chang plans to link the “Q-Chang” platform with the “Ruang Chang” platform developed by the Department of Skill Development.
“This collaboration between Nexter Digital Co., Ltd. and the Department of Skill Development marks a positive starting point for mutual growth, where craftsmen trained by the Department will have increased job opportunities through the “Q-Chang” platform, while Q-Chang will have a network of skilled craftsmen ready to serve customers nationwide,”

Mr. Thawatch Benjatikul, Director-General of the Department of Skill Development, stated that the Department and Nexter Digital Co., Ltd. have agreed to collaborate on a project to develop the skills of construction and electrical workers, as well as to create a platform for finding quality craftsmen. The objective is to enhance the workforce's potential, ensuring they possess knowledge, skills, and craftsmanship that meet labor standards, keeping pace with technological changes and aligning with labor market demands. Furthermore, there will be a connection of the craftsman search platform utilizing digital technology to provide skilled craftsmen in various areas, allowing craftsmen and general laborers seeking freelance or supplementary work to access more job opportunities and sustain their livelihoods.
“The Department of Skill Development is committed to enhancing the workforce's skills to keep pace with technological changes and meet labor market demands. This upcoming collaboration is another project that will help develop and provide opportunities for Thai labor to access employment with the support of private enterprises,”
