Kasikornbank, in collaboration with the Revenue Department, has launched a pilot service for requesting withholding tax information on deposit interest through the e-Withholding Tax system on the Revenue Department's website. This service allows individual customers and corporate clients to request withholding tax information on deposit interest 24/7, making it convenient without the need to visit a branch or keep physical documents, thus saving time and travel expenses. This initiative reinforces Kasikornbank's leadership in providing digital financial services and supports the Revenue Department's electronic tax service policy. The information on withholding tax for deposit interest will cover transactions from July 10, 2021, onwards.

Mr. Silawat Santivisat, Senior Executive Vice President of Kasikornbank, stated that the bank has previously collaborated with the Revenue Department to provide an electronic withholding tax service, or e-Withholding Tax, to reduce the burden of preparing and submitting withholding tax returns for corporate clients and businesses. This new service extends to requesting withholding tax information on deposit interest through the e-Withholding Tax system for both individual and corporate clients, marking a collaboration with the Revenue Department, with Kasikornbank being the pioneer in offering this service.

Mr. Silawat Santivisat, Senior Executive Vice President of Kasikornbank

The service for requesting withholding tax information on deposit interest through the e-Withholding Tax system on the Revenue Department's website is available to customers with any type of deposit account at the bank who have had withholding tax deducted. This includes individual customers seeking information for tax refund applications with the Revenue Department and corporate clients needing the information for financial statement closure and income tax submissions. Previously, customers had to visit branches to request and receive certificates. This service has been developed to better meet customer needs, especially in the current situation. Customers who do not wish to apply for a refund of withholding tax on deposit interest can proceed as usual, in accordance with the provisions of the Revenue Code B.E. 2481, Section 48(3)(a), which allows income earners to choose not to include interest income in their annual income tax calculation since the bank has already submitted the withholding tax.

Customers can request information on transactions that have had withholding tax deducted on deposit interest from July 10, 2021, onwards. Individual customers can contact their nearest bank branch or the K-Contact Center at 02-8888888. Corporate clients or business customers can reach out to their relationship managers or the K-BIZ Contact Center at 02-8888822, or find more details at www.kasikornbank.com.
