SUSUNN Collaborates with OSP to Study Energy-Saving Technology and Develop Sustainable Management Capabilities
SCG Ceramics Co., Ltd. reveals that the performance in the second half of 2021 will either recover or worsen, depending on the distribution of vaccines to restore consumer confidence. The marketing plan focuses on expanding coverage across all channels, while the international market continues to grow. Recently, under the name SUSUNN, they have partnered with OSP Group to study energy-saving technology and develop sustainable energy management capabilities.
Mr. Nampol Malichai, Managing Director of SCG Ceramics Public Company Limited or COTTO, a manufacturer and distributor of tiles under the brands COTTO, SOSUCO, and CAMPANA, disclosed that the company's performance for the remainder of 2021 will depend on the speed of vaccine distribution, which will impact the restoration of consumer confidence. This year, the operational strategy focuses on expanding distribution channels. In the first quarter of 2021, the company expanded its ceramic warehouse by 7 branches, exceeding the original target of 5 branches, bringing the total to 47 branches. COTTO plans to expand to 100 branches by 2023.

Additionally, the company has revamped its showrooms into a ONE Stop Service Solution under the brand name COTTO Life, which connects offline and online services. This model includes consulting, design, product selection, and installation services to meet customer needs. The company has also introduced products called LT by COTTO, focusing on quick installation with no dust, aligning with current customer demands and expected to grow significantly in the future. Furthermore, they continue to develop products related to ceramics.
In the international market, particularly in Cambodia, Laos, and Myanmar (CLM), despite the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and political issues in Myanmar, the company believes that these markets will continue to grow in the long term. They are committed to expanding their market presence in these countries, although they acknowledge that sales in Myanmar are likely to decrease by 20-30%, with Myanmar accounting for about 4-5% of total sales. For this year's investment budget, the company has set aside approximately 450-500 million baht to expand the business and reduce energy costs, having already spent 38 million baht in the first quarter.
“This year, we will focus on expanding sales channels and developing products that align with consumer behavior, which will help create growth and differentiation for the company. For example, the LT by COTTO products have received significant positive feedback from real estate developers, and we expect the energy business to also contribute to sales growth,” said Mr. Nampol.
Recently, they signed a memorandum of understanding for collaboration on energy-saving technology services with Mr. Nukit Cholkup, Chief Manufacturing Officer of OSP Public Company Limited, to jointly study and select energy-saving technologies in areas such as Solar Business, Energy Audit, and participate in electricity trading and carbon credit projects through intermediaries on the SUSUNN Platform to develop sustainable energy management capabilities.
Through this collaboration, SCG Ceramics, under the brand “SUSUNN,” which is recognized as an expert in energy management, energy certification, and analysis in the ASEAN region, will provide comprehensive services from surveying, designing, installing systems, sourcing, ensuring quality, to operating energy-saving technology services through solar energy production systems, including various forms such as Solar Roof, Solar Farm, or Solar Floating, and offering consulting to enhance energy-saving capabilities while continuously improving and developing systems and technologies for higher efficiency.
