Announcement of the 16th PropertyGuru Thailand Property Awards: Seeking the Best in Real Estate for 2021

PropertyGuru Thailand Property Awards for the 16th time (PropertyGuru Thailand Property Awards) has partnered with allies to seek out Thai real estate companies that have demonstrated outstanding performance and established standards recognized by consumers and investors. The event is set to proceed as planned, with nominations for various real estate projects now open for the 2021 awards. The prestigious awards ceremony, along with an exclusive gala dinner, will take place in Bangkok on Thursday, October 21st.

Mr. Jules Kay, Managing Director of PropertyGuru AsiaProperty Awards and Events, stated that over the past 16 years, the PropertyGuru Thailand Property Awards has been recognized as the most credible awards event in the real estate sector and has been held the longest in Thailand. The awarding of prestigious accolades to various projects has made it easier for consumers to search for quality real estate, providing essential information for those looking to purchase properties, supported by in-depth data and technology from DDProperty.com, a recognized real estate marketplace.

The PropertyGuru Thailand Property Awards is a mission to identify outstanding real estate companies and projects through a nomination and judging process conducted by a panel of experts from various fields. The independent committee, composed of trusted experts and judges in the industry, includes Ms. Suphin Meesukcheep, Chairman of Jones Lang LaSalle (Thailand) Limited, as the Chair of the judging panel, ensuring that this awards event is recognized for its reliable, fair, and transparent standards.

“Recent feedback indicates that consumer confidence in the real estate sector remains strong, even amidst the COVID-19 situation. Therefore, we are proceeding with the 16th PropertyGuru Thailand Property Awards as originally planned this year. The event aims to assist consumers in making informed decisions when purchasing quality real estate,” Mr. Jules stated.

Factors Influencing Home Buying in the New Normal

During the COVID-19 pandemic and the current economic situation, receiving accurate and comprehensive information, as well as the development of recognized standard projects, will help consumers who are looking to purchase real estate make better-informed decisions. According to a consumer confidence survey from DDproperty.com in the first half of 2021, 69% of consumers are considering purchasing residential properties in the near future, with more than half indicating their intention to buy within the next two years.

Additionally, the survey found that only 56% of Thais have been affected by purchasing residential properties, which is lower than the second half of 2020. It was also noted that consumers aged 40-50 are increasingly seeking real estate information online, while younger consumers tend to gather additional information from family, close friends, and colleagues.

What attracts most consumers are various offers, such as diverse packages and plans to choose from, discounts, and cash back that real estate developers have presented to consumers during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Nominated projects and participants will undergo a fair, transparent, and ethical judging process under the supervision and certification of HLB (Thailand) as the official supervisor of the PropertyGuru Thailand Property Awards, led by Mr. Paul Ashburn, Partner at HLB (Thailand) and ASPAC Leader of HLB Real Estate Group.

The Path to Success in Thai Real Estate

Mr. Jules further stated that the 16th PropertyGuru Thailand Property Awards is now open for nominations for various real estate projects for the 2021 awards. The winners in all categories and the Highly Commended awards for projects and real estate development companies will be announced at the exclusive gala dinner on Thursday, October 21, 2021, at The Athenee Hotel Bangkok, a Luxury Collection Hotel, following health and hygiene guidelines set by the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration.

To reach a broader audience, including consumers, investors, and real estate agents across the country and region, the organizers have planned to live stream the event online for the first time via AsiaPropertyAwards.com/tv-podcast and on Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, and YouTube. Additionally, highlights of the event will be broadcast on the History Channel, the cable TV partner for this year’s event.

Gold sponsors include Mitsubishi Electric and JLL (Thailand), online media partners include DDProperty.com, History Channel cable TV, PropertyGuru Property Report magazine, PR partner Infinity Communications, media partners include HOT Magazine, Locanation, Luxury Society Asia, and REm Thailand, charity partner Right To Play, and sustainability partners (Environmental, Social, Governance: ESG) include the Child Development Network Foundation and the Green Building Consulting & Engineering Association, with official supplier GFour Wines & Spirits and official judging supervisor HLB (Thailand).
