Prime Minister Cancels Bangkok's Order, Allows Dining in Restaurants Until 9 PM to Avoid Impact on Businesses
Prime Minister General Prayuth Chan-o-cha has canceled Bangkok's order, allowing dining in restaurants until 9 PM to avoid impacting businesses.
On January 4, 2021, Prime Minister General Prayuth Chan-o-cha, who is also the Minister of Defense, announced after a meeting of the COVID-19 Situation Administration Center (CSSA) that the meeting received a proposal from the Restaurant Association, requesting Bangkok to lift the announcement prohibiting dining in restaurants from 7 PM to 6 AM.
Customers can now dine in restaurants until 9 PM, but they must adhere to previously established measures, including limiting the number of people and maintaining social distancing. The association's president is confident that this can be managed, and thus requests that the government proceed accordingly, as it does not want to see negative impacts on businesses.
