MQDC Unites Group Companies to Allocate 50 Million Baht to Alleviate Hardships Amid COVID-19 Crisis
Magnolia Quality Development Corporation Limited (MQDC), a subsidiary of DTGO Corporation Limited, has collaborated with group companies to assist those affected by the COVID-19 crisis. DTGO, the parent company, focuses on benefiting and helping society through the Buddhaksa Foundation and the Thanin Tevi Chiaravanont Foundation as of April 22, 2020.
Mr. Wisit Malaisirirat, CEO of Magnolia Quality Development Corporation Limited - MQDC, stated that MQDC has partnered with DTGO Corporation Limited, along with affiliated companies and partners including Dees Supreme Co., Ltd., T&B Media Global (Thailand) Co., Ltd., 1.6 Development Corporation Limited, and Brites Co., Ltd., to implement various assistance projects through the Thanin Tevi Chiaravanont Foundation, the Buddhaksa Foundation, and the Buddhaksa Brotherhood Association under the concept 'With love and concern for every dimension of Thai society, we unite to overcome together.' The initiative has also received strong support from various real estate projects of MQDC.
The project The Forestias by MQDC focuses on creating a city alongside nature, supporting the budget and overseeing the Forest for Life seedling project. This initiative collaborates with government agencies and communities to provide income opportunities for the unemployed and low-income individuals, which is currently underway.
The MULBERRY GROVE Sukhumvit by MQDC project allocates a budget to provide 140 lunch boxes per day to unemployed individuals in the Thonglor police station community and Klong Toey community through the Food For Hope: Sharing Happiness and Care project, with support from 1.6 Development Corporation Limited.
The Whizdom Society by MQDC organizes a food offering project for monks to provide breakfast and meals to Wat Samphanthawong, Wat Moli Lokaya Ratchaworawihan, and Wat Phra Ram 9 during the period when they cannot go on alms rounds.
The Aspen Tree by MQDC supports a project for supplementary food for the elderly and those with low immunity by delivering food, essential supplies, and survival bags along with protective equipment such as face shields and immune-boosting food to elderly individuals and chronically ill patients with low income and limited resources, who are at risk of infection.
MQDC also has the MQDC Gives Heart to Fight COVID-19 project, which provides essential living supplies and hygiene equipment to distribute to those in need in various communities near the company's real estate projects located in Phra Khanong and Klong San, totaling 1,687 households. Additionally, it supports the ingredients for meals offered to monks and novices through the MQDC Shares Kindness Against COVID-19 project, supporting disease prevention measures in Najomtien, Chonburi Province.
Furthermore, MQDC has contributed to the Chulalongkorn University Engineering Innovation Fund to develop the Pinto robot to assist doctors and nurses in caring for patients in hospitals, successfully reducing the risk of infection for medical personnel. The company Obodroid Corporation Limited, a joint venture, collaborates with the CU ROBO COVID team.
Dr. Wit Sunthananant, Executive Director of the Corporate Strategy for Social Impact Division at DTGO Corporation Limited, Board Member of the Thanin Tevi Chiaravanont Foundation, Vice President of the Buddhaksa Foundation, and President of the Buddhaksa Brotherhood Association, added that the DTGO group and its charitable partner organizations recognize the urgent need for everyone to help each other to overcome the COVID-19 crisis, thus uniting efforts to deliver assistance to various sectors of Thai society.
The first group of focus is medical and public health personnel, who are on the front lines and the main force in combating the outbreak and treating the sick. The DTGO Sends Heart to Heroes to Overcome Together project was initiated to procure 30,000 personal protective equipment (PPE) sets, 20,000 N-95 masks, 100,000 surgical masks, and 10,000 raincoats to be distributed to over 80 hospitals nationwide, facilitated by the Thanin Tevi Chiaravanont Foundation, the Buddhaksa Foundation, and the Buddhaksa Brotherhood Association. Additionally, they collaborated with Shell Hut Entertainment Co., Ltd. in the 'Pay It Forward' project to produce 30,000 face shields for delivery to medical personnel and hospitals.
The second group consists of families with low income who have been significantly affected by measures to curb the outbreak, such as daily wage workers and small vendors. We have divided our efforts into several streams to deliver assistance to those in need as much as possible, including the Food For Hope: Sharing Happiness and Care project, which hires local restaurants to prepare lunch boxes and distribute them to unemployed individuals and elderly residents in 140 families in the Thonglor police station community and Soi Charoen Suk (Klong Toey) community since April 13.

The 'Sister and Brother Kindness Project' by DTGO is an initiative by members of the DTGO group companies who donate part of their salaries to the Buddhaksa Foundation to provide funds and essential items to a wide range of people in need.
According to Dr. Chavalwat Ariyaworarom, CEO of T&B Media Global (Thailand) Co., Ltd. and Shell Hut Entertainment Co., Ltd., which are partner companies in film production, they wish to be part of alleviating the hardships in Thai society through the Pay It Forward project to procure masks, PPE, and produce 40,000 face shields to donate to medical personnel and hospitals. They will also purchase food and medicine for animals in need, provide meals and drinking water, and medicine to monks, as well as to the public facing shortages of essential goods due to job losses that have resulted in a loss of income. The 'Pay It Forward' project has been fundraising since April 1.
