Russian news outlet RT reports that strict quarantine measures in Russia have prevented many Russians from going outside, except under certain exceptions. One of these exceptions is walking a dog.

This loophole has allowed dog owners to profit from a new business by renting out their dogs to people who do not own one, providing them with a reason to step outside, even if it's just for a short walk, as long as they stay within 100 meters of their residence.

This business idea is currently being discussed on Russian social media and various news outlets.

To find customers for dog rentals, owners can easily connect through the popular Russian social media site VK.com, where they can specify details about their services, such as deposit fees and taxi costs to bring the dog to the customer, etc.

However, Russia is not the first country to see the emergence of dog rental services during lockdown. Previously, Spanish police criticized advertisements for dog rentals, deeming them a violation of quarantine measures. Meanwhile, Spain's environmental agency warned that adopting dogs for the purpose of renting them out for walks could lead to abandonment once the pandemic is over.

Nevertheless, dog rental services remain a controversial topic in Russia.
