On March 23, 2020, Pol. Gen. Asawin Kwanmuang, the Governor of Bangkok, announced 7 additional measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19. He requested cooperation from all agencies and the public to avoid crowded places. Following the closure of several high-risk locations in Bangkok, many people are considering traveling outside the city.

The 7 measures for safety and to prevent the spread of COVID-19 are as follows:

1. Everyone is requested to refrain from traveling outside Bangkok because:
-
If you do not have the virus, you may contract it while traveling.
-
If you have a small amount of the virus in your body, which could be manageable, traveling may increase the viral load and worsen symptoms.
2. Please stay at home and regularly clean your living space, especially frequently touched surfaces like bathrooms. Take care of your health and protect yourself and your household from infection to prevent outside contamination.
3. Workplaces, including government agencies, state enterprises, and private companies, are requested to implement measures to prevent the spread of the virus as prescribed by the Ministry of Public Health. This includes ensuring a distance of 1-2 meters between seating arrangements, providing hand sanitizer stations, and managing waste.
4. Individuals who have visited boxing stadiums, entertainment venues, or areas reporting outbreaks, as well as those in close contact with infected individuals, should monitor their symptoms at home and follow the Ministry of Public Health's recommendations. If you experience fever, cough, sore throat, shortness of breath, or difficulty breathing, seek medical attention.
5. Please avoid entering crowded places and maintain a distance of 1-2 meters from others.
6. Government agencies, state enterprises, and private companies are requested to cancel activities that involve large gatherings or events that would bring many people together.
7. All forms of public transportation are requested to reduce passenger congestion, clean frequently touched areas, provide hand sanitizer stations, conduct temperature screenings, and manage waste.
