"TOTO" has commenced operations at its automatic toilet seat WASHLET production facility in Saraburi province after investing over 1.073 billion baht on a construction area of approximately 49,000 square meters. The factory aims to produce 450,000 WASHLET units annually, reinforcing its position as the number one leader in automatic toilet seat technology.

Mr. Takayasu Shimada , President of TOTO (Thailand) Co., Ltd. stated that "TOTO" has been a pioneer in sanitary innovation and technology for over 100 years, with continuous sales growth. According to a survey by the global market research firm Euromonitor International Ltd., TOTO ranked first in global sales of automatic toilet seat WASHLET products in 2018, with total sales exceeding 50 million units worldwide to date, highlighting TOTO's success in innovative product sales.

According to the Medium Term Plan "TOTO WILL2022", TOTO is committed to expanding the WASHLET product line into international markets to meet the growing global demand, particularly in Asia and the United States. Thailand has been chosen as a strategic hub for global distribution, leading to the establishment of the third TOTO manufacturing facility in Nong Khae district, Saraburi province, with an investment of over 1.073 billion baht on a 49,000 square meter site, located within the same industrial estate as the existing factories, just a 5-minute drive from the first and second factories.

The construction of the WASHLET production facility began in May 2018 and was completed in May 2019, with actual production starting in July 2019. The factory aims to operate for 9 hours a day, with an estimated production capacity of approximately 450,000 units per year. The third factory enhances production capacity by utilizing the latest machinery and high-quality tools to facilitate production, including the installation of air conditioning in the WASHLET assembly area and automated testing equipment to reduce errors from manual inspections.

The company aims for Thailand to become the largest production hub for TOTO products in ASEAN, ensuring that all products meet high-quality standards and global benchmarks, particularly the stringent standards of the TOTO Group, which are more rigorous than any other in the world. All products undergo 100% inspection during production to guarantee quality for every unit. TOTO's WASHLET production facilities exist both in Japan and abroad, with the factory in Thailand being the fifth for the company, and the third specifically for WASHLET production outside Japan.

"TOTO continues to see potential and business opportunities in Thailand, which is expected to grow steadily. In 2019, TOTO Group's total sales across all products reached 168.5 billion baht, with domestic sales in Japan accounting for 124.4 billion baht, international sales at 37.7 billion baht, and new business domains at 6.4 billion baht. In 2019, TOTO Thailand's performance increased by 27% compared to 2018, in line with expectations, and for 2020, the company aims for a 20% increase in sales compared to 2019."
