The home building business is looking to the new government to boost consumer confidence as the political landscape becomes clearer. Recently, the overall home building market figures for the first half of the year have shown continuous growth, and there is confidence that this year will meet the set targets. An event titled 'Home Building and Materials' is scheduled for August 29 to September 1 at Impact Muang Thong Thani, featuring leading home building companies and special promotions before price adjustments, with expected sales during the event to reach no less than 3 billion baht.

Mrs. Siriporn Singharun, President of the Home Building Business Association stated that the overall home building market this year is expected to benefit from the establishment of the new government, which is anticipated to enhance consumer confidence for those considering building homes. In the first half of the year, particularly in the first quarter, the market continued to expand, although there was a slight slowdown in the second quarter due to the country's economic conditions and the global economic situation. However, the strong sales from the first quarter have mitigated the overall impact in the first half.

Additionally, the second half of the year is typically when most consumers decide to build homes, which should lead to an increase in sales value for each company and an overall positive trend in the market. According to the association's data, the total market value of the home building business has grown compared to the same period last year, and the total market value for 2019 is expected to meet the set growth targets.

“The overall performance in the first half of the year, particularly in the second quarter, has been somewhat affected by the overall economic situation, especially for homes priced between 2.5 to 5 million baht, which saw limited growth. In contrast, homes priced between 5 to 10 million baht and those above 10 million baht have continued to grow well, as consumers in these segments are less affected by economic conditions. It is expected that the market will perform better in the second half as the government becomes clearer, consumer confidence increases, and more people begin to build homes. We also anticipate that the government will introduce measures to stimulate the housing sector, as this business is a crucial mechanism for driving the overall economy,” Mrs. Siriporn added.

Mrs. Siriporn further stated that to stimulate the market in the second half of the year, the association is organizing the 'Home Builder Expo 2019' from August 29 to September 1, 2019, at Impact Hall 6, Muang Thong Thani. The event will gather leading home building companies, showcasing over 1,000 house designs and homes across all price ranges from 1 to 100 million baht. There will also be numerous manufacturers of construction materials and home decoration products. This year, the association is placing significant emphasis on new innovations and environmental considerations.

Mr. Worawut Kanjanakul, Secretary-General of the Home Building Business Association, mentioned that this event presents a great opportunity for consumers to acquire quality homes at truly special prices. It is expected that home prices will certainly rise after this, as construction material prices are trending upwards in line with inflation. In addition to special promotions from participating home building companies, the association has prepared additional special promotions for attendees who register in advance through www.hba.th.org and book home construction, receiving discounts of up to 10,000 baht and a chance to win gold prizes worth over 400,000 baht.

At the same time, this event will coincide with the NPA Grand Sale and Home Loan 2019, which gathers the most housing loans from leading commercial banks along with NPA assets for sale. Those interested in building homes can apply for loans under special conditions, and those looking for vacant land to build can also visit the event. The Home Builder Expo 2019 is expected to generate sales of over 3 billion baht.
