Bangkok, January 24, 2019 -- The Siam Architects Association and N.C.C. Exhibition Organizer Co., Ltd. announced the Architect'62 event, themed 'Living Green', which will take place from April 30 to May 5, 2019, at Challenger Hall 1-3, Impact Exhibition and Convention Center, Muang Thong Thani, covering an area of over 60,000 square meters.

Mr. Atchaphol Dusitnanont, President of the Siam Architects Association under Royal Patronage, stated, "The Architect event is the largest exhibition of architecture, materials, and construction technology in the ASEAN region, initiated by the Siam Architects Association since 1986. This year marks the 33rd edition of the event, aimed at showcasing architectural potential and presenting advancements in architecture, raising awareness of the role of architects in society through various exhibitions and activities organized continuously for over three decades, attracting over 400,000 visitors last year."

The Architect event presents construction materials and products related to architecture, interior design, and landscape architecture. Additionally, there will be numerous interesting exhibitions and activities, including international seminars and various services prepared by the Siam Architects Association for its members and the general public.

Each year, the association sets a different concept for the event to reflect the changing trends of the world. This year's theme, 'Living Green', presents the creation of environmentally friendly architecture and designs for sustainable living.

During the press conference, Dr. Atcharawan Jutharat, Chair of Architect'62, discussed this year's event, stating, "The issues of climate change and global warming impact the economy, society, and the quality of life of everyone on Earth. This is a critical problem that all professions must urgently address, especially architects, whose work inevitably affects the environment, cities, and communities, from design to material selection and construction methods. Architect'62, 'Living Green', presents ideas for creating sustainable architecture and designs, innovative environmentally friendly construction materials, and integrating local wisdom with technology to create solutions suitable for the current context through exhibitions and numerous educational activities."

This year marks the first time the Architect event will create a 'Green Experience' for attendees, with a design concept focused on sustainability in every detail, from using environmentally friendly materials in constructing various exhibitions to designing appropriate lighting to reduce energy consumption, minimizing paper use in communications between organizers and exhibitors, managing waste generated during the event, and reusing materials after the event concludes.

Architect'62 will cover over 60,000 square meters, divided into two main sections: the exhibitor area featuring over 850 leading global brands and the activity area of the association, which includes thematic exhibitions and many interesting activity spaces, such as the 'Green Building Showcase' featuring green building design concepts from leading Asian designers, the exhibition 'Wisdom from 3 Regions to Present', showcasing local innovations that may be answers for sustainable living in the future, and the 'Go Zero Waste' exhibition promoting a waste-free life, as well as the 'Innovative Green Products' exhibition featuring environmentally friendly construction materials.

There will also be an international design competition, the ASA International Design Competition 2019, a significant platform for new architects with a total prize pool of over 280,000 baht. This year's design challenge is 'Uncanny Sustainability', seeking creative ideas for sustainable designs that differ from traditional forms. This competition is open to participants worldwide, not limited to architects.

Additionally, the event will feature recreational activities for the general public, practical workshops, a central stage, and public spaces for relaxation, allowing attendees to enjoy performances and interesting activities throughout the event, including the 'House Doctor ASA', addressing various home and design issues for the public.

Another highlight not to be missed is the 'ASA Forum 2019', an international architecture seminar featuring renowned architects and designers, including Atelier Ten, experts in high-rise building technology from New York, architects from Foster + Partners, Eco Architect, S/T/U/do, among others.

This year's Architect'62 event has partnered with both public and private sector allies, including the Health Promotion Foundation (HPF), the National Innovation Agency (NIA), the Austrian Embassy, the Thai Green Building Institute, and several organizations that prioritize sustainability. It is the most comprehensive and largest exhibition of architecture and environmental design in the region, expected to attract at least 25% more visitors than last year.

Mr. Sakchai Phatthaprichakul, Managing Director of N.C.C. Exhibition Organizer Co., Ltd. (Neo), the organizer of Architect'62, revealed the latest progress of the event, focusing on two main areas. First, the management of the exhibitor space, which this year is grandly organized over 60,000 square meters to accommodate exhibitors from both domestic and international markets, including the USA, Germany, Italy, Australia, South Korea, Taiwan, Singapore, Hong Kong, and ASEAN member countries, particularly the CLMV group, which is a target market for Neo. Over 850 leading companies worldwide have already reserved over 80% of the exhibition space, including major operators from both domestic and international markets such as Jarakae, L & E (Lighting and Equipment), Modernform, Hafale, Cannon, Mitsubishi Electric, BOSCH, 3M, Modern Glass, and many more.

The second aspect is facilitating the expansion of business opportunities for exhibitors, making Architect'62 a significant platform for exhibitors to access the ASEAN market through collaboration with public and private organizations to support the growth of the Architect event as one of the most important exhibitions in the construction materials sector for architecture in the region. This event serves as a major platform for introducing new technologies and innovations from around the world to ASEAN and also showcases products made in Thailand & ASEAN for export to other markets outside the region. Neo has prepared various services to support exhibitors in business matchmaking (B2B), such as inviting buyers from abroad, including associations related to architecture or real estate stakeholders. "Given the long history of the Architect event spanning over 30 years and Neo's extensive experience in organizing exhibitions both domestically and internationally, we have instilled confidence in operators both domestically and internationally. Neo has employed strategies to build various partnerships to attract exhibitors and attendees, with expectations of over 500,000 attendees," Mr. Sakchai stated.

Architect'62, 'Living Green', will take place from April 30 to May 5, 2019, at Challenger Hall 1-3, Impact Exhibition Center, Muang Thong Thani.
