SB Design Square, a comprehensive hub for furniture, home decor products, and design services, is fully advancing into the market in 2018 after observing a shift in consumer purchasing behavior. This aligns with positive factors signaling overall growth in the furniture market alongside the real estate sector. The first campaign of the year, '52 WEEKS OF DESIGN by SB DESIGN SQUARE', brings together 52 skilled and experienced interior designers to share home decoration ideas on the website, serving as a central source of inspiration and ideas for home styling. The focus is on strengthening the Designer Connect network to expand the customer base, with expectations of a quality sales growth of 10% this year.

Thanyarak Chavaldit, Executive Director of SB Furniture Group, a leader in furniture innovation and design in Thailand, revealed that the overall furniture market in 2018 shows positive signs due to several developers gradually delivering residential units, especially condominiums. Currently, consumer behavior has shifted towards preferring condominiums for their convenience. Additionally, various furniture brands are adapting in terms of design and services to meet the needs and lifestyles of their target audience. Government measures to stimulate purchasing power (such as the 'Shop for the Nation' initiative) at the end of last year have revitalized the furniture market in the first quarter. These positive factors have led to a 5% growth for SB in the past three months compared to the same period last year, with an overall sales growth target of 10% for the year.

The main strategy this year is Designer Connect, focusing on strengthening relationships with interior designers. The first campaign for this year is '52 WEEKS OF DESIGN by SB DESIGN SQUARE'. The primary objectives are: 1. To showcase the design works of Thai designers to inspire customers in home decoration, allowing them to see each designer's perspective weekly, featuring beautiful and interesting designs that greatly benefit customers. 2. To provide customers with new ideas and recommendations for home decoration from professional designers through the 'Décor Ideas' and 'Recommended Items by Designer' sections, as home decoration involves many details, and many may not know how to proceed.

The campaign 52 WEEKS OF DESIGN by SB DESIGN SQUARE SB has the honor of featuring 52 skilled and experienced interior designers who come together to inspire and suggest home decoration ideas, presented through www.sbdesignsquare.com, which attracts over 500,000 visitors each month. Each week, there will be great ideas shared by different designers, such as Khun Nattha Sunthornvinit, Khun Bodin Plangku, Khun Benyapa Srisopon, Khun Watthana Kowatanaporn, Khun Phuwasit Taweereetananong, etc. This campaign started on January 1, 2018, and as of now, it has entered the 17th week with 17 designers showcasing their work. Customers looking to decorate their homes can visit the SB Design Square website and choose ideas from each designer to enhance their home decor in their preferred style. The feedback has been very positive, as evidenced by the number of visitors to the campaign section of the website, which has exceeded 100,000 page views since the beginning of the year.

“We chose to run this campaign online because SB has continuously studied consumer behavior and found that over the past three years, consumer behavior has changed significantly. In the past, customers would seek decoration ideas from magazines and visit furniture stores, but now they primarily look for information online. In addition to this campaign, we have adapted our communication with customers online by utilizing multiple platforms for different purposes. For instance, the SB Design Square website serves as a comprehensive product hub for customers to browse and select products, while Facebook is used for news dissemination, and our LINE Official Account, which has over 4 million followers, serves as a communication channel to promote campaigns and promotions. Responding to these consumer behaviors has resulted in SB Design Square's Facebook page gaining 800,000 followers, while our YouTube channel has also received positive feedback from the 'Furniture Concept' advertising campaign, winning the YouTube Ads Leaderboard as one of the top 10 most popular Thai ads on YouTube last year.”

As for the 52 WEEKS OF DESIGN campaign, it is part of SB's efforts to build brand awareness and foster good relationships with the interior designer customer segment. There are also many additional processes we have prepared to enhance our operations with this customer group, including special discounts for designers, a points accumulation program, and Pro Service, which is a special service exclusively for this customer group. We will have a dedicated team to assist with customer projects, providing sourcing services from both domestic and international manufacturers and importers, as well as coordinating delivery and installation to meet deadlines. All of this will be part of the SB Designer Club, which is the next phase we are rapidly working on and will launch SB Designer Club at the Architect Expo, which will take place from May 1-6, 2018, at the Impact Exhibition Center, Muang Thong Thani, Booth E504.

Regarding the brand expansion strategy, the Executive Director of SB Furniture Group added, “In addition to building networks and creating home decoration ideas through online channels, SB continues to lead the lifestyle furniture market. Recently, we have increased the import of luxury furniture brands from abroad to cater to middle to upper consumers, which is the real demand group with actual purchasing power, including brands like Universal, Metropole Living from the USA, and Habitat from France. We are also enhancing our service to produce customized designs under the Kelvin Giormani brand, which offers genuine leather sofas imported from Italy, allowing customers to choose from over 200 designs, 50 color shades, and 8 grades of high-quality leather. Additionally, we have customized designs for beds, wardrobes, TV stands, and sofas under the SB brand.”

“We are confident that with the positive market signals and our operational plans, including the launch of the campaign 52 WEEKS OF DESIGN by SB DESIGN SQUARE, the import of new furniture brands, and various marketing activities, we expect to achieve sales of approximately 7.8 billion baht by the end of 2018, representing a 10% growth from last year,” Mr. Thanyarak concluded.
