Home Buyer Group Collaborates with Chulalongkorn University's Faculty of Engineering to Launch 'Chula-Home Dot Tech', Utilizing Data Science & Machine Learning to Develop Comprehensive Prop Tech Solutions for Thailand's Real Estate Market
Home Buyer Group partners with Chulalongkorn University's Faculty of Engineering to unveil “Chula-Home Dot Tech”, leveraging Data Science & Machine Learning to transform Prop Tech, addressing the needs of consumers and businesses while enhancing educational personnel, and preparing to launch the “Home Hop” application, a groundbreaking new way to search for housing in Thailand.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Supachai Techawatsinthakool, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at Chulalongkorn University revealed that the faculty has collaborated with Home Buyer Guide Co., Ltd. as part of an Industrial Liaison Program (ILP) to execute the Chula-Home Dot Tech project, which focuses on research and development in real estate technology (Prop Tech) by applying Data Science and Machine Learning in the real estate domain (www.home.co.th) and creating new tools for the benefit of both consumers and the real estate business for the first time in Thailand.

In addition to benefiting consumers and the real estate sector as a whole, this collaboration also provides an opportunity for experts in Data Science and Machine Learning to study and experiment with real market data, helping to develop skilled personnel and create beneficial activities for engineering students and related faculties, while also fostering future Prop Tech development experiences.

“It must be acknowledged that there are currently not many experts in Data Science and Machine Learning in Thailand, and most are in academia. Meanwhile, the business sector possesses deep insights and extensive real-world experience. This collaboration represents a pinnacle of partnership between academia and industry, combining the strengths of both sides, similar to collaborations that the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) conducts with businesses or startups to innovate and develop new technologies,” Assoc. Prof. Dr. Supachai stated.

The faculty has supported personnel skilled in Data Science and Machine Learning and related fields to participate in this research project, with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Prodan Bunyapukana, a faculty member in the Computer Engineering Department, serving as the project leader, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Atiwong Suchato, Deputy Dean for Learning Innovation, as the research team leader, Dr. Ekaphol Chuangsuvanit, a faculty member in the Computer Engineering Department, as the principal researcher, and Dr. Narumol Prathanwanit, a faculty member in the Mathematics and Computer Science Department, as a researcher.

Mr. Borisut Kasinpila, Managing Director of Home Buyer Guide Co., Ltd. and CEO and Founder of Home Dot Tech Co., Ltd. stated that Home Buyer Guide Co., Ltd. has been operating a comprehensive real estate media business for over 25 years, allowing them to see opportunities to leverage data, knowledge, and experience with Data Science and Machine Learning technology to create new innovations, address pain points, and find solutions for consumers in choosing housing, while also assisting operators in planning investments for maximum efficiency. Therefore, the company has established a partnership with the Faculty of Engineering at Chulalongkorn University to jointly implement the Chula-Home Dot Tech project and has founded Home Dot Tech Co., Ltd. to advance technology and innovations in real estate communication.

“Our past goal has been to be a support for home buyers by providing information and knowledge for consumer decision-making. Today, we still aim to be a support for home buyers, but we will provide information and experiences in a new way that has never been done before using technology, which will help home buyers receive accurate, precise, and efficient information beyond what individuals can learn through their own experiences,” Mr. Borisut said.

The main goal of the company is to be a trusted companion throughout every step of the home buying process, or a Trusty Companion for the Home Buying Journey, thus developing technologies for home searching, home purchasing, and other related aspects of home buying.

Home Dot Tech has been operational for some time now, currently featuring both applications under development and those that are already functional, such as Home Buyers Analytics, the first demand-side real estate data analysis tool in Thailand, Home Dashboard, a marketing management tool for online walk-in customers of real estate projects, Home Hop for finding housing based on lifestyle and personal preferences (Persona), which provides results beyond individual personal experience for the first time in Thailand, and Home Event, a tool for viewing housing fairs and marketing communication tools for projects, which has developed Version 2 for use this year.
