3 Major Leaders of Real Estate Associations Thrilled by the Success of the 38th Housing and Condo Fair
March 19, 2018 – the Housing Business Association, the Thai Condominium Association, and the Thai Real Estate Association announced their success following the 38th Housing and Condo Fair, as sales, loan applications, and attendance exceeded expectations.

Mr. Waratphop Phaetyanan the chairman of the organizing committee for the 38th Housing and Condo Fair, revealed the success of the event, which took place over four days from March 15 to 18, under the concept “Eliminating All Limitations to Make Living Easy.” Nearly 200 companies from across the country showcased over 1,000 existing and newly launched projects, along with special promotions. Additionally, leading financial institutions offered loan services to customers. Throughout the four days, over 100,000 people attended the fair, resulting in over 4 billion baht in housing reservations during the event. It is expected that post-event sales will exceed 8 billion baht. The top three types of housing reserved during the event were condominiums, followed by single houses and townhouses. Furthermore, there were loan applications totaling over 14 billion baht.

“Survey results from the event indicated that the majority of attendees were real demand buyers rather than investors. The increase in reservations can be attributed to several factors, including the current low inflation and interest rates, which have improved consumers' purchasing power compared to previous periods. Developers introduced new projects and locations, along with various promotions such as discounts, freebies, waived fees, and even several years of free living. Financial institutions also offered loan packages to facilitate easier decision-making for buyers.”

Regarding the analysis of registered attendees: “The most popular housing type reserved was single houses, accounting for 42.56%, followed by condominiums at 31.69%, and townhouses at 15.31%. The remaining categories included duplexes and others in similar proportions. Over 55.28% of attendees were first-time visitors to the fair, while approximately 43.72% had attended previous events. Attendees aged 21-30 made up 35.04%, followed by those aged 31-40 at 32.47%, and 15.14% were aged 41-50. In terms of monthly personal income, most attendees earned no more than 30,000 baht (35.37%), while 26.09% earned between 30,000 and 50,000 baht, and 12.94% earned over 50,000 baht. Regarding future purchasing timelines, 20.32% plan to buy within 1-2 years, 19.27% within 6-12 months, and 13.40% made purchases during the event.

Survey results regarding budget for purchasing housing types indicated that 27.33% of attendees sought housing priced between 2-3 million baht, 26.46% desired housing priced between 1-2 million baht, 18.96% were interested in housing priced between 3-4 million baht, and only 6.25% were interested in housing priced below 1 million baht.
As for the 39th Housing and Condo Fair, it is scheduled to take place from October 4-7, 2018, at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center, with Mr. Pitiphat Pridanont from the Thai Condominium Association honored to preside over the event.
