Shock! China Nears Deployment of 12,000 km Nuclear Missiles Traveling 10 Times the Speed of Sound - Capable of Striking Anywhere on Earth
In the first half of 2018, the People's Liberation Army of China will have the latest multi-warhead intercontinental missile "Dongfeng-41" in its arsenal. This missile has a maximum range of 12,000 kilometers, meaning that no enemy on Earth can escape its reach, according to a report from Global Times, a Chinese media outlet earlier this week.
The report states that the Dongfeng-41 can reach speeds of up to 10 Mach (approximately 12,250 kilometers per hour) and can also deploy decoys to mislead enemy air defense systems. Chinese propaganda claims it is one of the five most powerful missiles in the world.
Media reports indicate that this missile has undergone eight tests since 2012, leading analysts to believe it has made significant advancements. If the People's Liberation Army announces that this missile is operational, it would come after over 30 years of development.
Furthermore, state media reports that the Dongfeng-41 is set to be integrated into the arsenal of the People's Liberation Army in early 2018.
The South China Morning Post reported that the eighth test occurred earlier this month, but did not provide specific dates or details, only stating it took place in a desert area in the western part of the country.
However, a reporter from a television station, who was previously a member of the missile forces of the People's Liberation Army, speculated that China may have already deployed this missile, as tests can only be conducted after the missile is officially operational.
According to Global Security, the Dongfeng-41 has an operational range of 10,000 to 12,000 kilometers, is powered by solid fuel, measures approximately 15 meters in length, has a diameter of about 2 meters, and weighs around 30,000 kilograms.
Global Times further reports that this missile can carry 10 warheads, each capable of striking different targets. However, it emphasizes that "China does not have an agenda for an arms race and will not compete with any country for such purposes."
Global Times boasts that the Dongfeng-41 has the capability to strike anywhere on the globe, while missile expert Su Guangyu stated, "Once the Dongfeng-41 is operational, China's capability to safeguard its security and deter wars will significantly increase."
