Customs Launches Electronic Cargo Transfer Invoice Settlement System via NSW

The Customs Department, in collaboration with the Port Authority of Thailand, is enhancing the ease of doing business in Thailand regarding international trade by utilizing technology to manage and control the export of goods through container systems at Laem Chabang Port and Bangkok Port. The electronic cargo transfer invoice settlement system (e-Matching) is being integrated with the National Single Window (NSW) system to reduce paperwork, streamline processes, minimize errors, alleviate traffic issues, and cut service time down to just 20 seconds per container.
Mr. Apisak Tantivorawong, the Minister of Finance, stated that the fiscal year 2018 will be a year where the Customs Department collaborates with the Port Authority of Thailand to push forward and implement IT systems to facilitate trade effectively, aiming to improve the country's ranking and support the Thailand 4.0 policy.

Mr. Kulit Sombatsiri, Director-General of the Customs Department, mentioned that the e-Matching system being implemented at Laem Chabang Port and Bangkok Port aims to reduce redundant processes, allowing operators to enjoy faster service. The e-Matching system can reduce the inspection station processing time from 3 minutes to just 20 seconds, benefiting the overall business sector by cutting costs and time wastage by over 2.5 billion baht annually, while adding economic value to the country of over 3.5 billion baht each year.
Dr. Thitipong Nanta-piwat, a board member of the Port Authority of Thailand, stated that the e-Matching system not only supports the government's Doing Business policy but also contributes to the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) project, which aims to elevate the eastern economic zone into a "World-Class Economic Zone."
