Real Estate Leaders Establish Open Source BIM Group to Elevate Thai Real Estate to International Standards
Thai real estate leaders and BIM (Building Information Modeling) users, including property developers, construction companies, and design firms, have come together to establish the Open Source BIM group. This initiative aims to showcase the potential of Thai real estate and elevate it to international standards. The group will create opportunities for collaboration and discussion, presenting opinions and practical guidelines to ensure a unified direction. It will also explore methods and standards for working within the BIM system, a technology that utilizes software to assist in design (Smart Design Software) by consolidating all construction design data into a 3D Digital Model, enhancing accuracy and precision in all processes. Additionally, an event titled “Open Source BIM Innovation Public Sharing” was organized, featuring esteemed experts from both the public and private sectors who engaged in discussions and exchanged ideas on the implementation of BIM technology, which plays a crucial role in the construction industry from the design phase to building construction. This technology facilitates more cohesive and accurate collaboration, aligning directly with Thailand's development policy under the THAILAND 4.0 economic model, which emphasizes driving the country forward through technology and innovation, held recently at the FYI Center, Building 2, 11th Floor, Ananda Campus.
