Seekster's Major Leap with Visionary Partners
August 29, 2017 – Seekster, a hot startup that recently won the Best Performing Startup award from the dtac Accelerate batch 5 program, has also previously secured an investment of $150,000 from the Digital Ventures batch 0 program. Seekster operates as a platform providing cleaning and repair services for homes, condos, and offices.
Seekster has successfully completed its Seed Round funding from three major investors: dtac Accelerate, Digital Ventures, and 500 TukTuks, to strengthen its service and technology systems in preparation for business growth. The company has also announced a partnership with Ananda Development Public Company Limited, a leader in real estate, to provide housekeeping and maintenance services for Ananda's condominium projects.
Seekster is a platform that understands the challenges and lifestyles of digital-age individuals in finding cleaning staff or repair technicians without the need for permanent hiring. It offers an application that helps homeowners, condo owners, and office buildings find professional housekeepers and repair technicians who are well-trained and meet high standards, ensuring quality service and performance tracking. Seekster also creates job opportunities for housekeepers and service technicians, enabling them to access the job market and increase their stable income, thus driving the UrbanTech development mechanism further.
Mr. Saheb Anantasongwit, CEO and founder of the Seekster application, stated, “Seekster is not just a service marketplace; it is a system that oversees the quality and safety of users. We manage the entire process from recruitment and screening of service providers to the completion of services. Seekster launched in January 2016 with a customer-centric development approach. We participated in the dtac Accelerate batch 5 and DV batch 0 programs, which were crucial for our rapid growth. Currently, we handle an average of 150-200 jobs per day, or 5,000-6,000 jobs per month, with 1,800 housekeepers and technicians serving in Bangkok and its vicinity. Beyond regular customers, we see business opportunities in the SME market, having already engaged with over 200 SMEs in the past five months.
Seekster has continuously grown and succeeded, with plans to expand into major provinces where market demand exists. This is why all three investor groups are confident in Seekster's business potential and future plans, leading to today's achievements. Ananda Development has provided Seekster the opportunity to partner in providing housekeeping and repair services for Ananda's projects, a leader in Thailand's real estate sector.”
Mr. Chanan Ruangkritya, CEO and Managing Director of Ananda Development Public Company Limited, said, “We are pleased to work with Seekster as a partner, which will enhance the service value for urban lifestyles. Seekster's success comes from focusing on customer convenience and, importantly, service quality. As Ananda has welcomed DVA batch 0 to conduct incubation projects within the Ananda Campus, we have closely observed Seekster's development, including previous joint projects between Ananda and Seekster, which gives us confidence in Seekster's dedication to improving urban living standards, especially for Ananda's customers.”
Mr. Polpat Akkarapredee, Managing Director of Digital Ventures, stated, “Seekster is a high-potential startup and a silver medal winner from our Digital Ventures Accelerator (DVA) program. Digital Ventures is committed to building a strong ecosystem for startups in the ASEAN region, hence the accelerator program aims to create significant business opportunities for startups and bridge relationships with Siam Commercial Bank (SCB) and other clients. The program has nurtured knowledge and business ideas, sharing experiences with international startups. We are thrilled to witness another milestone in Seekster's success, a result of collaboration between Seekster, Digital Ventures, SCB, and Ananda Development.”
Mr. Somphote Jansomboon, Director of dtac Accelerate, said, “dtac Accelerate batch 5 is a startup incubation program that helps startups grow rapidly. We provide both funding support and marketing assistance, promoting Seekster widely and helping it reach dtac's customer base of over 23 million through dtac Rewards, offering discounts on professional housekeeping and repair services. Recently, Seekster was awarded Best Performing Startup from dtac Accelerate batch 5, which we are proud of. This year, dtac Accelerate invested in 12 Pre-seed teams and 3-5 Seed teams, totaling over 100 million baht. We have a new wave of startups that meet consumer needs and understand modern consumers well. Seekster is a new breed of economic warrior that can drive the economy and the country towards Thailand 4.0 with pride.” Follow updates on all 34 startups from the dtac Accelerate program at http://accelerate.dtac.co.th/en/ or on Facebook dtac accelerate.
Mr. Ruangroj Poolpol, Venture Partner of the 500 TukTuks fund, stated, “We have many startups similar to Seekster applying for funding, but this team has asked us to believe in their ability to win customers' hearts and become market leaders within a few years. At that time, we couldn't say much about this market, but what we saw was a team with high passion. Today, 500 TukTuks is pleased to announce that Seekster has proven they can do it. They have impressive customer traction, numerous business partners, and, importantly, very positive feedback from their customer base. Additionally, the Seekster team has been recognized by two leading accelerator programs in Thailand: dtac Accelerate batch 5 and Digital Ventures Accelerator batch 0. Finally, I would like to officially welcome Seekster to the 500 TukTuks family!
