The Songkhla Real Estate Association, in collaboration with the Chulalongkorn University Real Estate Business Administration Association, has announced the upcoming academic training for hotel business operators under the course titled "RE-CU HOTEL IN SONGKHLA". This program aims to enhance knowledge and prepare participants to become professional entrepreneurs in the accommodation and hotel industry.

Ms. Siriwan Phongsermsuk, President of the Songkhla Real Estate Association, revealed that RE-CU is the first academic training program focused on real estate business development in Thailand, established in 1986 and continuing for over 30 years, with more than 5,500 participants having completed the training.

Due to the government's ongoing support for the tourism industry, tourism revenue has become increasingly significant to Thailand's economy. The number of both foreign and domestic tourists has rapidly increased, with 32.58 million foreign tourist trips recorded in 2016, the highest ever. Domestic tourism also saw a rise, with approximately 137 million trips, contributing to tourism revenue of around 2.2 trillion baht, accounting for about 14% of GDP. In the first four months of 2017 (January - April), Thailand welcomed 12.02 million foreign tourists, generating 620 billion baht in revenue, alongside 49.58 million domestic trips generating 220 billion baht. It is anticipated that by the end of 2017, the tourism industry will grow by about 10% compared to 2016. However, in Songkhla province, only 6.684 million trips were recorded in 2016, generating 52.976 billion baht, which is relatively low compared to other provinces in the region. Therefore, it is crucial for Songkhla to innovate and create a new platform to attract more tourists sustainably in the future.

The tourism revenue has benefited related businesses, especially hotels and resorts. However, many hotels and resorts in Thailand have not met the necessary standards, and the business landscape is complex and rapidly changing. Hence, enhancing knowledge, understanding, and ethical business practices is essential to build trust among tourists and promote sustainable growth in the Thai tourism industry. RE-CU recognizes the importance of equipping hotel and resort operators in Thailand with the knowledge and standards needed to compete globally, including investment knowledge, risk management, marketing strategies, financial liquidity management, feasibility studies, human resource management in the hotel sector, quality operations, and alternative analysis for choosing hotel chains. This course will feature esteemed faculty and experts with direct experience in the hotel and resort business, including hotel operators and chain executives, to enhance the knowledge of new entrepreneurs, preparing them for effective investment and development of hotels and resorts.

Additionally, the RE-CU HOTEL (INVESTMENT AND MARKETING) course is designed for those preparing to enter the hotel, resort, hostel, or apartment business, enabling them to manage hotel operations systematically and professionally. For those already in the hotel business, the course aims to develop new knowledge and enhance analytical thinking for greater efficiency, leading to extensive business networking that benefits long-term sustainability. Therefore, the Songkhla Real Estate Association, recognizing this importance, has partnered with the Chulalongkorn University Real Estate Business Administration Association to organize the "RE-CU HOTEL IN SONGKHLA 2017" training program, aiming to empower operators and drive tourism in Songkhla to become a leading province in the southern region effectively, while also enhancing knowledge and ethics towards success in Songkhla, Ms. Siriwan concluded.

2. Architectural design and landscape architecture.
