Transport Company Open to Relocating Bus Terminal Back to Old Mo Chit
Mr. Anusorn Saengnimnual, Chairman of the Board of the Transport Company Limited (Bor.Kor.Sor.), revealed that the plan to relocate the Bangkok Bus Terminal (Chatuchak) back to the old Mo Chit station, which covers an area of approximately 100,000 square meters, is not opposed by Bor.Kor.Sor. This is because passengers can access the old Mo Chit station through various means, including the Green Line Skytrain, public buses, taxis, or private vehicles.
However, he emphasized the need for the Ministry of Transport to conduct a comprehensive impact study, ensuring there is sufficient space to accommodate future bus traffic and prioritizing passenger travel to avoid traffic congestion or crises. A direct access ramp to Vibhavadi Road must be constructed. Bor.Kor.Sor. will not invest in the main structural developments but will focus on modernizing the bus operation and station management systems, aiming for a Smart Station concept similar to Shinjuku Station in Japan.
Additionally, the 6th/2560 Board of Directors meeting approved the criteria for evaluating the performance of the Managing Director based on the guidelines set by the Ministry of Finance. The performance of Mr. Jirasak Yawawatchakul, the Managing Director of Bor.Kor.Sor., will be assessed over the first four months. If his performance does not meet the established targets, the employment contract will be terminated. However, if he meets the evaluation criteria, he will still be assessed every six months thereafter.Regarding the process of selecting a new Managing Director for Bor.Kor.Sor., delays have occurred due to the selection committee not having the required five members as stipulated by the State Enterprise Personnel Standards Act B.E. 2518 and its amendments. This was due to several committee members resigning or completing their terms, necessitating the appointment of a new board of directors. Once fully appointed, the selection process will proceed immediately, and the selection committee has considered revising the qualifications for applicants to allow more executives from both public and private sectors to compete.
