The Mall Group Harnesses Design Power to Create a 'City Oasis' at Bangkok Design Week 2026, Enhancing the Quality of Life for Bangkok Residents Sustainably
The Mall Group reaffirms its role as a leader in sustainable retail by participating in Bangkok Design Week 2026 for the second consecutive year, bringing the power of 'design' in collaboration with Fall Studio under the concept 'Point of Peace'—a space for relaxation in the heart of Bangkok where everyone can pause, breathe, and reconnect amidst the city's constant hustle and bustle, at the Central Post Office in Bang Rak from January 29 to February 8, 2026.
This project reflects The Mall Group's vision of using design as a tool to enhance quality of life while addressing environmental issues concretely by creating an 'urban garden' and large bean bags made from recycled materials, plastic waste, old billboards, and fabric scraps from the THE MALL GROUP GO TO ZERO initiative and various partners, including Thai Namthip Corporation Public Company Limited, Mirror Foundation, and Beverly Hills Polo Club, aimed at reducing waste and promoting a circular economy that brings materials back to life. One of the highlights of the project is the opening of a 'space of opportunity' for students from various universities to participate in the production process and create real works alongside professional designers, merging the strengths of business, education, and creativity to develop a new generation of designers who grow with a sense of social and environmental responsibility.

With the concept of this year's Point of Peace, The Mall Group aims to create a small space that allows city dwellers to take a break from the rush and chaos of daily life. This area is designed to be a contemporary oasis in the heart of Bangkok, providing everyone the opportunity to connect with nature, themselves, and others through simple, warm, and environmentally friendly design. Importantly, it aims to demonstrate that design is not just about aesthetics but can be a tool for healing the mind, creating balance, and genuinely enhancing the quality of urban life. After the event, the trees used in the 'urban garden' will be donated to Bangkok Metropolitan Administration to sustainably increase green spaces in the city.

The Mall Group, as the first GREEN RETAIL in Thailand and a member of the Climate Neutral Network of the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) since 2007, continues to push forward the THE MALL GROUP GO TO ZERO initiative with the goal of achieving carbon neutrality by 2050.
Join us in experiencing design that connects people, the city, and the environment, and be part of driving Bangkok towards becoming a livable city through Bangkok Design Week 2026 from January 29 to February 8, 2026, at the Central Post Office in Bang Rak.
