SC Asset Corporation Public Company Limited, or SC Asset, a leader in sustainability within Thailand's real estate sector, has announced a collaboration with KASIKORNBANK to support residents with rooftop solar installations in registering and selling Renewable Energy Certificates (REC) through the GreenPass platform conveniently, quickly, and at no cost. This initiative aims to create additional income opportunities while jointly fostering a sustainable energy society, moving towards the Net Zero goal as part of the SCero Mission.

SC Asset is recognized as the first real estate developer in Thailand to invite residents to register for buying and selling RECs, starting with over 600 units that already have solar installations, covering both homes and clubhouses in existing and new projects, with plans for continuous expansion in the future. This initiative is expected to help reduce greenhouse gas emissions by more than 2 million kilograms of CO2 equivalent per year and lower electricity costs by nearly 14.5 million baht annually.

In addition to residential properties, commercial rental properties including SCT Building, Shinawatra 3 Building (SC Asset's headquarters), and The Junction have also participated in this registration, reinforcing the commitment to a comprehensive sustainable energy society under the SCero Mission.

To facilitate customers, SC Asset will assist in the REC registration process through the GreenPass Platform, reducing the complexity that customers would otherwise face, making access to clean energy and income generation from renewable energy easier for every household.

Ms. Sudarat Charoenketmongkol, Deputy Managing Director of Sustainable Organizational Development at SC Asset Corporation, stated, “This collaboration between SC Asset and KASIKORNBANK marks another significant step in enhancing the use of clean energy in residential projects, while simultaneously creating added value for customers and supporting the establishment of a sustainable energy society, aligning with our mission to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 100,000 tons by 2030 and aiming for Net Zero by 2065.”

Dr. Krint Boonleewanich, Executive Vice President of KASIKORNBANK, said, “The GreenPass platform is designed to support individuals and SMEs in fully benefiting from rooftop solar installations, helping to generate additional income and recover investments more quickly. The rooftop solar market for both households and SMEs is expected to continue growing due to decreasing installation costs and government support policies. It is anticipated that between 2025 and 2035, more than 100,000 rooftops will be installed nationwide.”

“This collaboration elevates the promotion of clean energy use in the real estate sector by enabling office buildings, project areas, and residences of residents with rooftop solar installations to register for RECs through the GreenPass platform conveniently, quickly, and at no cost. It opens up effective additional income opportunities and reflects the commitment of both organizations to promote the concept of Sustainable Living in a tangible and actionable way,” Dr. Krint added.
