KBTG Techtopia Year 3: Opening Doors to the Future of Humanity, Reinforcing that the Collaboration of Humans and AI is the Light of the New Era
Kasikorn Business-Technology Group (KBTG) reaffirms its leadership in technology in the region by organizing the KBTG Techtopia Year 3 , an international technology conference that brings together top innovations and creativity in one place at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center. The event attracted over 4,000 participants from various industries, supported by leading partners both domestically and internationally. This year's event is held under the theme “At World’s Beginning” , exploring how people and technology can collaborate in a world that is no longer the same, inviting attendees to discover new beginnings and ignite hope for a better tomorrow by merging the power of humans and emerging technologies, especially AI to unlock endless possibilities.

Mr. Ruangroj Poonpol, Chairman of Kasikorn Business-Technology Group (KBTG), revealed that KBTG Techtopia Year 3 is an international technology conference that gathers top innovations and creativity supported by leading partners both domestically and internationally. This year, over 4,000 people showed interest in attending the event, held under the theme “At World’s Beginning,” inviting exploration of new beginnings and igniting hope for creation by merging the power of humans and technology for a better tomorrow. It highlights the crossroads of AI where humans determine the future, from the arrival of Agentic AI to serious governance, including establishing responsible usage principles (Governance), aligning with human values (Alignment), and controlling within ethical boundaries (Containment), as well as balancing practical usage, pursuing Artificial General Intelligence (AGI), and global cooperation from all sectors. Additionally, it addresses the amount of energy resources used and employing AI to reduce inequality without limiting access to only affluent groups.

Another highlight of this year's event is the recorded conversation between Mr. Ruangroj and Dr. Andrew Ng, Managing General Partner of AI Fund, who, although unable to visit Thailand in person this year, shared valuable insights with all attendees on the topic AI's Next Frontier: Transitioning from Hype to Impact. Key points summarized include the transition from Gen AI to Agentic AI, which is akin to having more diverse tools that enable the creation of more complex and useful applications, especially when users understand how to integrate these tools. AI will not replace humans, but those who use AI will replace those who do not, particularly in non-technical fields such as finance, law, and management, allowing engineers to develop software more rapidly with the aid of AI Coding Assistants, and accelerating the Proof of Concept development process while reducing costs. Meanwhile, in the realm of Physical AI and robotics, Andrew indicated that we will begin to see real applications in the industry, even if we have not yet reached a tipping point like that of large language models (LLMs). He emphasized that learning about AI is not too late, and the knowledge gained today will still hold value in the future. Although some knowledge may become outdated, 80–90% of what is learned today will still be valuable in a year, giving learners an advantage over those who do not.

For organizational strategies, emphasis should be placed on employee training, creating a Sandbox for new experiments, selecting high-value Use Cases that align with organizational strategy while maintaining a balance between innovation, governance, and control measures (Guardrail). Additionally, Andrew expressed confidence in Thailand's potential to lead in AI in the region, continuously supporting the development of the Ecosystem.

KBTG Techtopia features three main discussion stages, with leading speakers from around the world gathering to discuss hot topics and propose solutions through real examples. In the morning, participants heard various topics from Professor Danielle Wood, founder of the Space Enabled research unit at MIT Media Lab, Kevin Wei Wang, Senior Partner from McKinsey & Company, and Cindy Chow, Executive Director and CEO of Alibaba Entrepreneurs Fund, along with Mr. Thana Theerachariya, Chairman and Independent Director of Bluebik Group, and Mr. Theerapong Wichayaruangrom, Deputy Managing Director of Strategic and Digital Transformation from AXONS, among many others. The afternoon also featured interesting topics ranging from research, organizational transformation, access to education, medical technology, to product design with a human-centric approach, aligning with the theme of the event.

Moreover, there are numerous activities designed to spark creativity, unlock potential, and expand everyone's thinking, including a showcase of new technologies and innovations never before revealed by KBTG, along with those from leading technology partners, a Playground Workshop offering intensive training by real experts to enhance skills for the future, and a Community Circle for informal discussions and exchanges within the tech community.

Mr. Ruangroj concluded by stating that KBTG Techtopia is not just a technology showcase but a platform created to inspire new ideas and connect people who share a dream of building a better world through technology. KBTG believes this event will mark a new beginning for the old world, with a future filled with hope, and KBTG will lead the way in driving that future through meaningful innovation and inspiring the new generation and entrepreneurs across all sectors.
