KBTG Supports MIT Media Lab's AHA Project to Explore Global Advances in AI and Human-Computer Interaction
KBTG has announced its collaboration with the Advancing Humans with AI (AHA) project by MIT Media Lab as a supporter of the initiative, reaffirming its commitment to driving global advancements in AI and Human-Computer Interaction while pioneering research to benefit society at large.
Mr. Ruangroj Poonpol, Chairman of KASIKORNBANK Business Technology Group (KBTG), stated that KBTG is dedicated to enhancing AI and advanced technologies within the organization to propel KBTG onto the global stage. Since joining the Research Consortium in 2022, KBTG has participated in several research projects, including: 1. Future You: an AI platform that allows users to converse with a Digital Twin of their future selves; 2. Thought Partner: an AI Thought Partner and consulting chatbot; 3. FinLearn: an educational platform promoting accessible financial knowledge; 4. Future Jobs: an AI platform providing career advice through simulations of future selves in those professions; and 5. Talk to the Hand: a mouse pointer that offers real-time guidance on web pages. All of these initiatives underscore KBTG's intention to be a leader in AI in Thailand and Southeast Asia, opening doors for new AI collaborations.

Recently, KBTG has elevated its collaboration to further drive global advancements in AI and Human-Computer Interaction by becoming the first Asian supporter of the new MIT Media Lab project called Advancing Humans with AI (AHA). The AHA project, led by Professor Pattie Maes and Dr. Patth Patthanunthaporn, a KBTG Fellow from MIT Media Lab, is set to launch in Spring 2025 with support from several companies listed on the Fortune Global 5000. The main goal is to promote research and development in AI and Human-Computer Interaction to create broad societal benefits, establishing sustainable connections between technology and humanity across all dimensions of life, and supporting human potential (Human Flourishing) through AI systems that facilitate multidimensional work. The research scope of AHA includes:

- Decision-Making: AI systems that enhance human decision-making processes and develop critical thinking skills.
- Mental Health and Behavior Change: AI systems that support mental health and promote positive behavior change.
- Learning: AI systems designed to create personalized learning experiences, support self-development, and enhance skills and knowledge, with a focus on fostering curiosity.
- Creation, Design and Discovery: Interactive AI systems that support human creativity and discovery.
- Communication and Collaboration: AI systems that facilitate communication, coordination, and collaboration.
- Assistive Augmentation: AI systems designed to assist individuals or groups with specific needs, such as the elderly or neurodivergent individuals.
KBTG aims to leverage the knowledge gained from the AHA project to drive the development of new innovations, promote skill development, knowledge, and instill long-term positive thinking in individuals, along with future goals that continue to focus on developing applications of AI to benefit humanity and society.
