SCB Partners with Allies to Guide Entrepreneurs in Tackling Global Mega Trends, Accelerating Growth through Digital Innovation and Sustainability
Global mega trends driven by digital technology, particularly the rapid advancement of Artificial Intelligence (AI), have prompted business operators to adopt digital technology to gain a competitive edge. However, for businesses to sustain continuous growth, an essential mega trend that accompanies technology is the creation of sustainability. This is a key reason why Siam Commercial Bank, the National Innovation Agency (Public Organization), and the Digital Economy Promotion Agency have joined forces to share knowledge through experts on how to implement AI in business operations aligned with sustainability strategies. This initiative also includes support for various tools that leverage the strengths of each organization, such as funding sources and public-private networks, to empower SMEs to become "digital innovation-based organizations" and grow towards a sustainable future, ready to face the world's volatile changes with the IBE6 Digital Sustainovation course aimed at creating sustainable digital innovation-based organizations.
SCB Promotes “3 S” to Drive SMEs Towards Sustainability
Ms. Kongkaew Boonprasith, Assistant Senior Manager of Business Banking L2 at Siam Commercial Bank, stated that the IBE6 Digital Sustainovation course reflects the importance of digital and innovation in driving sustainable growth for SMEs. The collaboration with NIA and depa provides both knowledge and funding sources, serving as tools for innovative SMEs to achieve sustainable growth. The course design considers the 3 S's: the first S stands for SMEs, which are the backbone of the country's economy; the second S is Start, encouraging action from today; and the third S is Sustainability, as sustainable SMEs can grow towards a better future.
Mr. Vicharn Kulati, Senior Economist at SCB Economic and Business Research Center (SCB EIC), pointed out that despite the global risks from internal and external economic factors, particularly the trade policies of U.S. President Donald Trump, some businesses still have opportunities and are likely to continue growing. These include businesses related to digital technology, green businesses, and those focusing on ESG, aligning with global mega trends where people are increasingly concerned about health, the environment, and technological changes.
NIA Supports Low Interest Rates for Innovative SMEs
Dr. Kritphak Boonfueng, Director of the National Innovation Agency (Public Organization) (NIA), stated that this course is designed to groom high-impact SMEs. Participants will learn about government mechanisms supporting SME growth, global innovation trends, their training network, and clearly identify their business challenges and collaborative solutions. NIA provides funding support and reduces the interest burden for innovative SMEs through coordination with various financial institutions.
The National Innovation Agency has introduced four approaches: Groom, Grant, Growth, and Global, aiming to encourage Thai businesses to prioritize innovation in their operations. This includes nurturing entrepreneurs, supporting growth in investment dimensions linked to banks, assisting with interest support for innovative businesses, and finally inviting SMEs to establish their products and services abroad, thereby transforming Thailand's image into an innovation-driven nation.
depa Urges SMEs to Adapt Towards Sustainability Amid New Global Pressures
Dr. Rattasart Kornsut, Deputy Director of the Digital Economy Promotion Agency (depa), emphasized that reliance on digital technology alongside sustainability is not an option but a necessity to create a business advantage amid pressures from the new global order, where many countries have adopted environmental measures as trade rules. At the same time, the market is increasingly responsive to innovative products that care for the environment, prompting SMEs to adapt quickly. Those who can leverage digital technology will gain advantages in reducing costs and enhancing competitiveness both domestically and internationally. This course will guide participants from the foundational steps of correctly establishing a business to receiving support from government agencies in transforming SMEs into robust entities.
IBE6 Digital Sustainovation Course Transforms SMEs for Sustainable Survival
Mr. Ukrit Tangsuekul, Co-Founder of Real Smart Co., Ltd. and Co-Director of the IBE6 Digital Sustainovation Course, stated that this course will empower SMEs to not rely on economic policies, allowing them to control their own destinies. Participants will understand how to create products and services through innovation, which not only serves as a shortcut for rapid growth but also ensures sustainable survival. By accessing the right leadership vision, turning AI into a strategic partner, and enhancing business through digital and sustainable strategies, they will also build a business network to evolve into a sustainable digital innovation-based organization.
