Prasert Taedulayasathit Makes a Comeback as the 13th President of the Thai Condominium Association
Mr. Prasert Taedulayasathit returns to the position of President of the Thai Condominium Association for a second term, becoming the 13th president of the association. The Thai Condominium Association held its annual general meeting to elect a new president, and Mr. Prasert brings over 30 years of experience in the real estate industry. Upon taking office, he quickly introduced both short-term and long-term policies, focusing on using the development of the real estate sector to drive the Thai economy, particularly in the condominium market. He has proposed the cancellation of the Loan-to-Value (LTV) ratio and increasing the foreign ownership quota for condominiums to 69%. Additionally, he plans to propose the establishment of a fund to assist low-income individuals in acquiring homes. He emphasized that Thailand is a “Global Property” market well-prepared to meet the demand from foreign buyers. This is seen as a “lifeline” for real estate operators to maintain sales by attracting foreign customers looking to purchase condominiums in Thailand as a second home, compensating for the weakened domestic purchasing power. It is believed that in his role as President of the Thai Condominium Association over the next two years (2024-2025), he will lead the real estate sector towards a brighter future by restructuring the industry to drive long-term economic growth....***
