GHB Showcases Success with 10 Energy-Efficient House Designs under the 'Cool and Happy Living Loan Project' to Enhance Eco-Friendly Housing for a Sustainable World
Government Housing Bank (GHB) reveals the success of the “Energy-Efficient House Designs” under the “Cool and Happy Living Loan Project” showcasing 10 creative works that elevate modern living to be “comfortable” and “eco-friendly” from a competition for prizes worth over 1 million baht, along with free downloadable house designs!!! Driving the goal of “providing Thai people with homes” while preserving the environment for a sustainable world.

Mr. Witthaya Saenphakdee, Deputy Managing Director of the Marketing Group at Government Housing Bank (GHB) announced that to celebrate the 70th anniversary of GHB and to announce the success of the Energy-Efficient House Design Competition under the “Cool and Happy Living Loan Project,” GHB organized the “Roadshow” to promote the download of energy-efficient house designs for the Cool and Happy Living Loan Project at the fountain area on the 2nd floor of Central Westgate Department Store from September 23-24, 2023. The energy-efficient house design competition attracted interest from students, the general public, and licensed architects nationwide, who submitted over 265 creative and energy-efficient house designs between February 15 and March 31, 2023, before announcing the 10 award-winning designs on May 12, 2023. The winning designs were judged by a panel of experts from the Engineering Institute, the Association of Siamese Architects under the Royal Patronage, the Thai Green Building Institute, and architecture specialists. The winning designs received a total prize money of over 1 million baht and were recognized for meeting energy efficiency standards in the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand's House No. 5 project. The public can download the energy-efficient house designs for free at www.ghbank.co.th for actual construction. The bank is also ready to support loans for construction with special interest rates to encourage Thai people to have their own energy-efficient homes. The winning designs in the small house category include: “Embrace House,” which features a design that harmonizes with the environment, utilizing wind and sunlight while being environmentally conscious; “EVERYHOME,” which won the judges' hearts with its flexible concept that caters to all Thai users, allowing everyone to have a cool and happy home “anywhere”; “Small House in the Big City,” designed for energy efficiency in narrow urban spaces; “Chan Earn House,” which incorporates the wisdom of the Isan people by designing a central area or under-house space for family activities; and “Breezy House,” designed to be open and airy, allowing easy airflow and light into the house, helping to reduce electricity consumption.
In the large house category, the winning designs include: “Well Being House,” designed for families to live together from children to the elderly, promoting good health and energy efficiency; “Balcony House,” which focuses on using locally sourced materials to save construction costs; “GREENHAUS,” designed to meet all aspects of modern living; “Garden House,” utilizing innovative tools for energy-efficient design through Active Design; and “SBYE HOUSE,” which draws inspiration from local architecture and harmonizes beautifully with nature.

During the Roadshow event promoting the download of energy-efficient house designs for the Cool and Happy Living Loan Project, there will also be many special activities, including a consultation zone for customers seeking advice on energy-efficient house construction from GHB experts, a second-hand house zone featuring NPA properties, a display zone for 10 award-winning energy-efficient house models, a design consultation zone for energy-efficient houses by architects, and a partnership with Q-CHANG, a platform for quality craftsmen and comprehensive home care services covering all home-related services... all in one place for “cleaning, repairing, installing, and renovating.” Additionally, there will be many benefits available at the event.
