Ms. Suphanida Chanthraphorn, Director of the AP OPEN HOUSE program at AP Thailand Public Company Limited, stated that one of the learning schedules prepared for the 40 students is the On-Site Experience, a real-world learning opportunity outside the classroom, in line with the concept of “Real Life is More Than Theory.” This allows all students to witness the actual construction process after studying theory at university. This time, they will see both the front and back-end operations of AP, including engineering, marketing, sales, and various design innovations.

AP Open House is a program initiated by AP's senior executives, Mr. Anupong Asavapokin and Mr. Pichet Wipawatsupakorn, who posed the question: wouldn’t it be better to share real experience knowledge with students who will grow up to work with us, allowing them to learn while still in university? This gives them the chance to experience real life before graduation. From that day until now, AP Open House has entered its 8th year, and we are all very proud to be part of nurturing the seeds for this industry,” Ms. Suphanida added.

In addition to on-site learning from real experiences, throughout the 2-month internship program, students will gain diverse knowledge to help them advance in their future careers, such as an overview of the Thai real estate business, the Project Life Cycle of real estate development from acquiring land to delivering homes to customers, learning the Design Thinking process to identify new customer needs, modern construction design technologies like BIM, and importantly, trends in residential design in the new world with the concept of Inclusive Living, which focuses on designing homes that accommodate everyone. One of the key aspects of identifying the latent needs of all residents is emphasizing housing design for people with disabilities to develop products and services that meet the diverse needs of customers.

The students are divided into groups to work on mini-projects designing housing under the concept of Inclusive Living or designing living spaces for everyone, including children, teenagers, working adults, the elderly, and people with disabilities. This concept of Inclusive Living is a global trend that is gaining significant attention worldwide. What consumers are looking for, in addition to quality or new innovations, is the readiness to accommodate all diversities, which is a crucial challenge for business operations so that everyone can choose to have the good life they desire. This is the principle that AP has adhered to all along,” Ms. Suphanida stated.

A representative from the AP OPEN HOUSE students, Ms. Chaniporn Kongkeutyai, shared that “I am currently studying at the Faculty of Architecture, Chulalongkorn University. I learned about the AP OPEN HOUSE internship from seniors, who all unanimously said it was an excellent internship experience, unlike any other. It truly lives up to the reputation of the program, providing us with on-the-job training in both theory and practice, and allowing us to meet friends from various faculties. It has been a valuable experience, and I feel fortunate to be one of the 40 selected.”

Mr. Purich Rakkaew, currently studying at the Faculty of Engineering, Kasetsart University, Kamphaeng Saen Campus, recounted, “I gained experiences and knowledge beyond textbooks, and not just engineering knowledge. It truly reflects the concept of “Real Life is More Than Theory.” The seniors at AP took us to see real work sites, and I am confident that this experience cannot be found in the classroom.”

Mr. Panphet Jingtaman from the Faculty of Business Administration, Srinakharinwirot University, shared, “At first, I was worried about whether I could keep up with my peers who are directly in the real estate field. However, the seniors at AP encouraged and guided me throughout. I learned about the design and innovations that AP has developed, especially through workshops to identify the unmet needs of people with disabilities. I will use this information for my final project on designing housing for everyone, enabling a good life that can be chosen.”

AP OPEN HOUSE is an intensive internship program by AP that has garnered immense interest from students and has been continuously held for 8 years. Upon completion of the AP OPEN HOUSE program for 2023, students will receive a certificate from AP Academy, and four outstanding students will have the opportunity to study and observe in Japan with Mitsubishi Estate Residence (a subsidiary of Mitsubishi Estate Group).
