Major Development Public Company Limited, a leader in luxury real estate development and pet-friendly residences, is pioneering construction standards while announcing its commitment to creating sustainable quality of life for residents and the community. The company has unveiled its new initiative, ‘Dustless Mission,’ aiming to reduce dust in construction areas by more than 105 million cubic meters by the year 2027.

Ms. Petchlada Poovoraluk, CEO of Major Development Public Company Limited, stated, “Air pollution is an issue that cannot be avoided by humans, animals, plants, and all living beings on Earth, as its impacts are widespread and pervasive. The problem of PM2.5 dust in Bangkok remains significant and requires urgent action, with support from all sectors, organizations, and individuals. In 2021, Bangkok ranked 11th in the world according to the air quality report and pollution ranking by IQAir. Major Development recognizes the importance of addressing air pollution through a commitment to drive the organization and personnel to be a ‘green heart’ that cares for the environment and society. We have expanded our campaign ‘Major Care-Share-Change’ by developing a large air purification system, ‘The Cloud Major’s Air Purifier,’ which has an air intake rate of over 10,000 cubic meters per hour, covering an area of approximately 7,500 square meters. Currently, it is installed at the Metris District Ladprao and Malton Gates-Krungthep Kreetha projects, capable of capturing up to 25,000,000 cubic meters of dust over a period of 15 months, from December 2021 to March 2023.”

The Cloud Major’s Air Purifier features high-efficiency particle capture, able to trap particles as small as 0.3 microns according to the EN 779: 2012 air filter standard, reducing PM2.5 levels from 700 – 2,000 micrograms per cubic meter to just 50 - 60 micrograms per cubic meter. This helps reduce airborne dust by up to 30%, and PM10 dust levels decrease by approximately 14% compared to measurements taken around the project site before the air purification system was installed.

Ms. Petchlada continued, “On World Environment Day, Major Development, as an organization committed to developing lifestyle solutions under the concept of ‘Crafting Lifescape to Excellence,’ which cares for the environment, community, and quality of life, has set significant milestones to help alleviate and reduce air pollution, aiming to create a sustainable quality of life for residents and the community under the new mission ‘Dustless Mission.’ The goal is to reduce dust in construction areas by more than 105,000,000 cubic meters by 2027, equivalent to 5,250,000 ten-wheeled trucks. We plan to install large air purification systems, ‘The Cloud Major’s Air Purifier,’ at every Major project construction site and implement various measures such as mist spraying to capture dust around construction areas, using large vacuum cleaners for cutting and grinding work, and cleaning and inspecting all construction vehicles before they leave the project site. This will help alleviate air pollution for Thai people and surrounding communities, allowing them to breathe clean air fully.”

Additionally, Major Development is enhancing air standards for residents to live worry-free, dust-free, and germ-free by installing various systems within homes to assist with air purification, such as the “DUST FREE SYSTEM,” an innovation that cleans outside air to provide fresh air inside homes, free from PM2.5 even when windows are closed, and “SOL N TECH UV CARE,” an innovation that uses UVC light to kill airborne germs at a rate 30 times higher than standard methods. The company is also selecting dust-trapping plants for green areas in its projects, starting with Malton Gates-Krungthep Kreetha and Metris District Ladprao projects.

“The construction standards and measures to develop housing under the ‘Dustless Mission’ will contribute to improving the environment in Thailand and provide clean air and quality living for residents and the community, paving the way for further environmental preservation and sustainable project development across all aspects,” Ms. Petchlada concluded.
