Mr. Ben Techaubon, CEO of Country Group Development Public Company Limited (CGD), revealed that following the successful development of the Chao Phraya Estate project, a mega mixed-use project along the river valued at over 32 billion baht, which includes the Four Seasons Private Residences Bangkok, Capella Bangkok, and Four Seasons Hotel Bangkok, the company is now moving forward to develop a new large mixed-use project on the Industrial Ring Road in the Rama 3 area, comprising an international school and luxury condominium project worth a total of 14.2 billion baht. Construction of the international school has already begun.

“We take great pride in having collaborated with various world-class partners to transform the Charoen Krung area through the Chao Phraya Estate project, making it one of the icons of the area that meets the needs of high-end living and leisure. Today, we are committed to creating a similar phenomenon once again in the Rama 3 area, starting with a premium international school,” said Mr. Ben.

Recently, the company laid the cornerstone to commence construction of the Rama III International School, a premium international school within the mixed-use project, on May 19. The ceremony was presided over by Somdet Phra Maha Thiracharn, a member of the Supreme Sangha Council and the abbot of Wat Phra Chetuphon Vimolmangklararm.

The school will consist of six modern buildings designed to accommodate approximately 1,700 students, offering education from ages 2 to 18, or from preschool to grade 12. It will utilize a world-class curriculum combined with co-curricular programs to prepare students in line with the admission standards of leading schools and universities in the United States, with a strong emphasis on Mandarin Chinese. The company is currently in the final stages of selecting the school brand and operator, with an announcement expected soon.

Mr. Ben further stated that Rama 3 is a prime location that offers easy and diverse access to important areas, including the Central Business District (CBD) and major employment hubs like Silom-Sathorn and Asoke-Sukhumvit, as well as proximity to expressways and the Industrial Ring Bridge connecting to Samut Prakan province. Additionally, it is close to the Chao Phraya River, with ongoing development of new communities and real estate projects. Coupled with the company’s expertise in developing both residential projects and international schools, which sets it apart from other real estate developers in Thailand, it is believed that this will transform the Rama 3 area and effectively meet consumer demands.

“The company is highly committed to advancing educational projects, with the Rama 3 International School being our second educational development. Previously, we partnered with Nord Anglia Education, a leading organization in premium international schools, to open Oxford International College Brighton, a top sixth form school in the UK, on a 20.2-acre site at Ovingdean Hall in Greenway Brighton, UK, scheduled to open around September. We are dedicated to building partnerships with world-class collaborators and continuously developing schools, with the Rama 3 International School being our first international school development in Thailand and a flagship investment in education for Country Group,” Mr. Ben stated.

Currently, international schools are in high demand across various markets in Thailand, including 1. Thai parents seeking quality education for their children in a conducive environment for development; 2. Expat families working in Thailand, particularly Chinese families who are moving to Thailand; and 3. Families from neighboring countries such as Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, and Vietnam (CLMV) who are increasingly sending their children to study in Thailand due to confidence in the education system, good environment, and cost-effectiveness. The international school business in Thailand is growing at an average rate of about 10% per year, leading the company to believe that the development of the Rama 3 International School will provide a steady recurring income for the company in the future, with an expected opening in August 2025. Meanwhile, the condominium project within the mixed-use development is in the preparation phase, with details expected to be revealed and sales to commence in the fourth quarter of 2023.
