Sky ICT Follows the Connecting Thailand Plan, Collaborates with KMUTT to Develop Tech Talent for National Advancement and Support Research Funding for Technology Enhancing Digital Airport Experiences
Sky ICT has partnered with King Mongkut's University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT) to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) aimed at integrating knowledge and bridging skills from the classroom to real-world applications. This initiative focuses on developing a new generation of Tech Talent to drive the country's future, with a budget of 20 million baht allocated to support joint research and technology development, strengthening Suvarnabhumi Airport and enhancing convenient, fast, and safe digital experiences for users.

Mr. Sitthidet Mailap, CEO of Sky ICT Public Company Limited (SKY), stated that the company has signed an MOU with KMUTT to develop students into Tech Talent through practical work experience and promote employment opportunities for graduates. The collaboration also supports research funding and academic service development to enhance knowledge that will drive the country forward in the future, in line with Sky ICT's commitment to Tech Talent Transformation aimed at continuously strengthening Thailand's Tech Ecosystem.
Furthermore, the company is dedicated to continuously improving digital experiences at the airport for users, with a budget of over 20 million baht to support research and the development of world-class technology related to airport services. This will be done in collaboration with the Edutainment Socio-Interaction Computing Lab (ESIC Lab) at the Department of Computer Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, KMUTT, to elevate Suvarnabhumi Airport's services towards becoming a smart airport (Digital Airport) that can accommodate the growth of Thailand's tourism industry, a key driver of the national economy, aligning with the company's goal of Connecting Thailand.

Associate Professor Dr. Suwit Saetia, Acting President of KMUTT, emphasized that KMUTT is committed to developing academic knowledge, creating research, producing graduates, and promoting innovations beneficial to society. This academic collaboration between Sky ICT and the university will enhance the integration of scientific and technological knowledge with practical applications, preparing students to work effectively in real environments and becoming a crucial force in driving the country forward in the future.

Dr. Priyakorn Puswiro, Director of ESIC Lab at KMUTT, noted that this MOU between the education sector and the private sector will lead to development in at least three areas: 1) Developing students with real work experience, which is a learning process that enhances skills outside the classroom, preparing them for the job market after graduation. 2) Utilizing modern research and technology to improve airport services, making the airport the first gateway of the country that provides a great experience for tourists. The education sector aims to leverage the expertise and experience of academic personnel to develop innovations in collaboration with the industry. 3) Expanding knowledge and research related to the development of smart airports.

Dr. Piyanit Weepulanont, Head of Research at ESIC Lab, stated that an important area for developing smart airport services is the work on Activating Space for Digital Airport, which includes various technologies such as wireless detection networks, passenger location identification within the airport, passenger navigation, data collection using multiple sensors installed in the area, studying human-computer interaction, cloud-based map processing, and other technologies that can be developed into new knowledge and interdisciplinary research in the future. All this knowledge will advance technology to enhance Digital Airport Experiences for passengers comprehensively.
