Design Village is investing over 1 billion baht to prepare for the launch of Design Village Bangna and Design Village Ratchada, catering to consumers in the Next Normal era as a hub for residential design and lifestyle for the new generation, aiming to enhance the standard of living in society. The project will offer a diverse range of knowledge, products, and services in categories such as home decoration, retail, dining, and services to enrich lives beyond the ordinary. This initiative builds on the success of the Design Village projects in Ratchaphruek, Phutthamonthon, and Kaset-Nawamin, which have received positive feedback as sustainable Brick-and-mortar service providers. The sales target for 2023 across 5 branches is set at 11 billion baht.

Mr. Sitthisak Thayanuwat, CEO of Boonthavorn Group Co., Ltd. discussed the overall picture of the construction materials industry, stating, "The economic recovery following the COVID-19 pandemic, while household purchasing power remains fragile due to high living costs and debt, poses challenges for businesses that must adapt to these factors. The hybrid working model, both from home and the office, continues to be a long-term behavior. People are spending more time at home and recognizing the importance of their living spaces to seek a better quality of life through home improvements. Additionally, shopping behaviors are shifting as people look for lifestyle venues in new formats. This presents an opportunity for Design Village to enhance our Boonthavorn branches to align with the new trends of home enthusiasts. Beyond being able to purchase home decoration items, customers can also enjoy other services such as fashion products, dining, etc. We have successfully piloted the first three Design Village projects, including Design Village Ratchaphruek, Phutthamonthon, and Kaset-Nawamin, which have received excellent customer feedback, averaging over 20,000 visitors per day across all branches, featuring over 200 leading brands and generating total revenue of over 4.5 billion baht across the three locations.

In 2023, the company plans to open two more Design Village branches: Design Village Bangna and Ratchada, with an investment budget of over 1 billion baht. We expect the Design Village project to be a place that opens new perspectives on design, gathering amenities, shops, restaurants, and communal spaces for the new generation to experience a unique design experience never seen before.

Mr. Saroj Jermthanet, Managing Director of Boonthavorn Asset Co., Ltd., overseeing the development and management of the Design Village projects  added that the Design Village Bangna project is located on over 30 rai of land, focusing on strategies that cater to modern-minded young people who are open to learning new things and have a passion for design, as well as customers from numerous housing projects in the eastern Bangkok area. This allows them to access our services, including our existing loyal customers. The project retains its strengths in terms of location, with shops situated on a "Roadside" location, featuring multiple access points that are "Super Accessible". Shops have their own entrances, allowing customers to park right in front or nearby and access the stores directly without going through the main entrance. The project area is spacious, with convenient transportation and over 600 parking spaces. The Design Village Bangna will include various zones that integrate a wider variety of products and services related to home decoration and enhancement, as well as zones for everyday and special lifestyle needs. We have partnered with major retailers to lease space within the project, including Gourmet Market, Uniqlo, Starbucks, etc. Currently, over 80% of the retail space has been secured, and we are considering proposals from remaining retailers. The construction of the Design Village Bangna project is over 60% complete and is expected to open in April 2023.

Meanwhile, the Design Village Ratchada project is situated on over 14 rai of land, designed under the concept of a Design Business District, focusing on serving customers in Bangkok and its vicinity. The location is in the New CBD area on Ratchadapisek Road, which has the potential for economic growth, featuring flagship stores from renowned home decor brands and a co-working x living x shopping space that opens areas for shopping, dining, working, seminars, and serves as a central hub for launching new products in the heart of the city, catering to the new generation with numerous exclusive privileges. It will be fully equipped with carefully selected leading shops and restaurants, currently undergoing renovations, and is expected to open in the third quarter of 2023.

"We expect that both Design Village projects, Bangna and Ratchada, which will open in 2023, will become new meeting points in Bangkok and its vicinity for design enthusiasts and those who enjoy various lifestyle experiences. They will be able to access our services every day. We sincerely hope that every Design Village project will contribute to elevating the Design Community of Thailand to a higher standard for a better life. We believe that the expansion of Design Village into various areas of Bangkok, its vicinity, and other cities will distribute the value of usability to all regions. Additionally, we aim to be an organization that spreads positive energy to the community and play a part in advancing the country in terms of economy and living standards," Mr. Saroj concluded.
