The Electronic Transactions Development Agency (ETDA) invites entrepreneurs, marketers, influencers, and digital enthusiasts to join the presentation of the Thailand Internet User Behavior 2022 survey at the event titled “IUB 2022: WHAT’S NEXT INSIGHT AND TREND - Exploring Thai Lifestyle in a World Where Internet is Indispensable.” This event aims to update and delve into the internet usage behavior of Thais annually, while inviting social media experts to exchange views and spark ideas for creating opportunities in a rapidly changing online society. The event will be live-streamed on August 23rd via the ETDA THAILAND Facebook page.

Dr. Chaiyut Mitphan, Director of ETDA stated that ETDA conducts the Thailand Internet User Behavior survey annually to provide all sectors, including government agencies, private sectors, and interested parties, with insights into the online behavior trends of Thais. This data serves as a crucial foundation for developing policies, strategies, and business plans, as well as designing digital services that align effectively with societal changes and contexts.

This year’s survey collected data from 46,348 respondents nationwide, distributed by age, gender, and province across different regions from April to July 2022 through online questionnaires. The collected data was then processed and analyzed to reflect the internet usage behavior of Thais, including the number of hours spent online categorized by gender, age, generation, and region, as well as popular online activities, the most used platforms, and HOT ISSUES to watch out for. The results have been summarized and analyzed in an easily understandable format for all Thais to stay updated.

To present the findings of the 2022 Thailand Internet User Behavior survey, ETDA is organizing the event “IUB 2022: WHAT’S NEXT INSIGHT AND TREND - Exploring Thai Lifestyle in a World Where Internet is Indispensable” on Tuesday, August 23, 2022. This event will highlight HOT ISSUES that are significant to society and warrant attention, leading to changes and adaptations in various aspects, such as increasing access channels for users and consumers, the resurgence of Shoppertainment (a blend of shopping and entertainment), the use of the internet for online medical appointment booking (Telemedicine), online communication via e-Meeting, and conducting online business through Live Commerce to establish a presence in sales, alongside the government's push for applications that have led to widespread registration among Thais.

Additionally, the event will feature special highlights, including discussions aimed at inspiring ideas and creating opportunities related to the new online lifestyle of Thais. Esteemed experts and academics in Social Online and Digital Marketing will participate, including Assoc. Prof. Dr. Boonying Kongachapath, Head of Marketing at Mahidol University’s College of Management (CMMU), who has pioneered new marketing trends through impactful research; Mr. Pom-Pawut Pongwittayapan from TARAD.COM, a key player in Thailand's e-commerce scene; Ms. Jiraporn Tangpujaroen, Senior Executive at ETDA's Data Analysis Center; and the well-known influencer Mr. Party-Watcharapol Nonphakdee, affectionately known as the “Feel-Good Voice Actor,” who will share insights on the changes occurring in online society and how to create future opportunities together.
