KBank has partnered with 6 leading allies including Chulalongkorn University, Chulalongkorn Asset Management Office, PTT Global Chemical Public Company Limited, SCG Cement and Construction Products Business, Advanced Info Service Public Company Limited and the Greenhouse Gas Management Organization (Public Organization) to create an Innovative Iconic Green Building, launching KLOUD by KBank, a space where ideas come to life, a cutting-edge model for 'green' spaces in the heart of Siam Square. This building features functions that connect creative living, harnessing technology and innovation to spark inspiration with the concept “create YOURNiVERSE”, allowing the new generation to exchange knowledge, learn, and enjoy activities that ignite new opportunities and challenges of being green citizens in the digital age, collectively creating value for those around them to foster sustainable societal growth.

“The KLOUD by KBank project has been designed as an Innovative Iconic Green Building, the first model of a 'green' space in Siam Square, featuring an environmentally friendly building management system that utilizes 100% renewable energy according to IREC (International Renewable Energy Certificate) standards, and efficient energy management in accordance with LEED and Fitwel standards. It also includes a systematic waste management process for comprehensive recycling, aiming for Zero Waste to Landfill, meaning zero waste from the building to landfills. Meanwhile, in terms of functionality, the KLOUD by KBank building can connect creative living, harnessing the most advanced technology and innovation to create a space for customers, students, and the general public to use without any charge.”

Ms. Kattiya Indaravijaya further added, “KLOUD by KBank is open for everyone to use with 3 highlights:

  1. FREE ACCESS FOR CO-WORKING SPACE by adding the Line friend: @KLOUDbyKBank and verifying identity through K PLUS, using a QR Code to scan for building entry, lift access, seat reservations, and meeting rooms, checking availability, and booking in advance easily at your fingertips.
  2. FREE BOOKING SPACE allows booking of work tables in single seating, group seating, or private meeting rooms for classes or events, with an amphitheater accommodating various needs.
  3. FREE WIFI BY AIS 5G AND IoT TECHNOLOGY for seamless online browsing in a building managed entirely by automated systems.

Additionally, it will serve as a space to support small businesses, such as the “KLOUD TOP PICKS” project, where the bank will use a 3D screen in the heart of Siam Square at KLOUD by KBank to promote shops that may lack the resources to purchase advertising space in Siam Square, providing them with a platform to showcase their products and services, enhancing their visibility and sales opportunities, reflecting the bank's commitment to utilizing resources to support communities, care for the environment, and promote sustainable economic growth.”

Professor Dr. Bandit Uea-aporn, President of Chulalongkorn University, stated, “The KLOUD by KBank building was designed by Chulalongkorn students, who are a new generation full of excellent creative ideas. The design competition for the KBank branch building in Siam Square was a collaboration with the Faculty of Architecture and the Faculty of Engineering at Chulalongkorn University in the project “Sustainable Building: The Right Cycle Living”, aiming to transform the building into a new landmark. This marks the beginning of sparking creativity and advancing design to align with the lifestyle of users in the best possible way. Chulalongkorn University hopes that the KLOUD by KBank building, which embodies the innovative ideas of Chulalongkorn students, the future leaders, will add vibrancy to the architecture of the new Siam Square area and effectively meet the needs of the new era of space usage in Siam Square.”

Associate Professor Dr. Jittisak Thammapornpilas, Vice President overseeing asset management and physical resources at Chulalongkorn University, stated, “This central area of Siam Square is a hub for commerce and education that is continuously evolving. We have developed the Siam Square Walking Street to stand out in terms of aesthetics, modernity, and beauty, creating an opportunity for youth to showcase their talents while promoting the economic district. The KLOUD by KBank is a significant highlight that complements and supports the growth of various businesses to thrive together.”

Mr. Kiat Chai Maitriwong, Director of the Greenhouse Gas Management Organization (Public Organization), stated, “We are proud to be part of the KLOUD by KBank project, which will set standards for measuring greenhouse gas emissions and various successes, whether projects, guidelines, or new policies of the world, all incorporated into this building. This can serve as a learning example and a good model for society, especially for a new low-carbon society, representing sustainability moving forward.”

Dr. Kongkapan Inthrajaeng, CEO and Managing Director of PTT Global Chemical Public Company Limited, stated, “GC emphasizes the application of sustainability principles that balance the environment, society, good governance, and the economy in business operations, with the concept of Circular Economy being one of the key tools to achieve sustainability goals. In the past, GC has raised awareness about managing used plastics, from proper waste separation, collection, to recycling and adding value through upcycling processes, while enhancing collaboration with partners from educational institutions, temples, communities, and both public and private organizations in various missions. Today, we are pleased to expand our collaboration with KBank in launching KLOUD by KBank, which is a model sustainable building in Thailand. GC has supported innovative comprehensive plastic waste management systems, the “YOUturn Platform”, which includes waste separation systems at the source, food waste shredders for composting, and plastic bottle return stations, “YOUturn Reverse Vending Machine”, supporting the transportation of plastic waste from collection to recycling and upcycling into new value-added products, enhancing user experience through recycling machines that can transform used plastics into Upcycling Wall Decorations to beautify the building's interior, and also featuring a reward exchange station for upcycled products by GC such as clothing, bags, furniture, and various items through the “YOUturn” application, along with comprehensive reporting on recycling waste management to ensure that KLOUD by KBank achieves its Zero Waste to Landfill goal and serves as a sustainable building model for expansion in other areas.”

Mr. Nithi Phatcharochok, Managing Director of SCG Cement and Construction Products Business, revealed, “In the KLOUD by KBank project, SCG has utilized technology to create a fully intelligent building standard, such as the SCG HVAC Air Scrubber system, which helps the building save energy by up to 20% while treating pollutants and carbon dioxide. Additionally, the SCG Bi-ion system has been installed to eliminate various pathogens by up to 99%, enhancing confidence in cleaner and safer air. The KLOUD by KBank project is the latest collaboration between KBank and SCG to achieve LEED and Fitwel building certification, demonstrating the goal of making the building energy-efficient while promoting the well-being of all building users.”
