Architect'65: Supporting Growth in Design and Construction Industries with Innovative Products to Stimulate the Economy in the Year of the Tiger
The Association of Siamese Architects under the Royal Patronage and TTF International Co., Ltd. showcased the potential of the grand event "Architect'65" (Architect'22) under the concept of CO-WITH CREATORS: relying on each other, announcing confidence to move forward, hoping to stimulate the Thai economy in the COVID era. The target is to attract 300,000 visitors over 6 days, with an expected economic impact exceeding 20 billion baht. More than 450 leading exhibitors from Thailand and abroad will showcase innovative construction products at the Challenger Hall, Impact Muang Thong Thani, highlighting a special exhibition area called "Thematic Pavilion" for the first time, featuring collaborative creative works between "new designers x construction material suppliers" to inspire creativity and provide a unique experience this year.
Mr. Chana Sumpalang, President of the Association of Siamese Architects under the Royal Patronage, stated that the annual architect event plays a crucial role in supporting the design and construction industry and serves as the best platform for professionals and consumers to meet. It is a space for knowledge exchange in the field of architecture and showcases the continuous development of Thai design and architecture with new knowledge, making it a memorable event for everyone. This year is special and grander than ever to help revive the Thai economy in the COVID era by leveraging creativity, learning, and mutual support among architects x creators from various professions, leading to Cross-culture and Cross-function collaborations, with the main theme being “CO-WITH CREATORS: Relying on Each Other.” This concept comes from three presidents from three regions: the North, South, and Northeast, who recognize the importance of collaboration amidst different ideas, languages, and cultures among architects and creators from various regions to produce new architectural perspectives or stories that may have never been seen before, aiming for a common goal of continuously advancing the design and construction industry.
Mr. Pongpol Yutharat, Event Chairman and Representative of Architects from the Northeast, mentioned that this year's architect event will provide a new experience through the highlight exhibition of the Association of Siamese Architects, titled “PROFESSIONAL COLLABORATION”, designed in collaboration with “Pakorn Yooddee / Wiphaada Yooddee X Dr. Natthapong Nithiuthai,” which is a pavilion showcasing ideas and collaborative work in a Co-Creation format between architects and creators from across the country, with 12 pairs designing 12 exhibitions in the Association's space, featuring models, conceptual images, and video media.
Meanwhile, Mr. Isara Aree-Rob, Event Chairman and Representative of Architects from the North, stated that there will also be other must-see pavilions, such as CO-WITH COVID, a creative work between “Sarin Nilsanthi X Assoc. Prof. Jeab Abdulloh Jehsor,” aiming to present options for moving towards a stable new normal amidst the ongoing pandemic through design concepts that incorporate unique artistic identities, intricate patterns, and local characteristics to enrich the pavilion's overall depth and meaning. Additionally, the pavilion “CO-BREATHING HOUSE” (LOCAL INNOVATION) by “Kamron Suthi X Jeerasak Panpiyasilp” is designed with various rooms using walls that blend with local materials and engage human senses through visuals, sounds, and touch, allowing viewers to truly connect with the local materials and the creators' identities.
Mr. Rajit Raden Ahmad, Event Chairman and Representative of Architects from the South, stated that the Association of Siamese Architects has prepared many other highlight activities, including the ASA INTERNATIONAL FORUM and ASA SEMINAR, a hybrid forum for exchanging ideas, featuring distinguished speakers who are leading architects and designers from Thailand and around the world. The ASA MEMBER exhibition showcases works from members of the Association of Siamese Architects, while the ASA CLUB serves as a meeting point and relaxation area for architects, along with the traditional gathering event ASA NIGHT for members.
On the other hand, Mr. Supaman Makka, Deputy Managing Director of TTF International Co., Ltd., the event organizer, stated that Architect'65 is the largest and most comprehensive construction product innovation exhibition in ASEAN, considered one of the largest exhibitions in Thailand, attracting exhibitors and visitors from around the world. The exhibition area at Architect'65 will feature highlights such as the exhibition zone “Dwell Well อยู่ได้ อยู่ดี” showcasing various solutions that not only address current living and construction needs but also contribute to creating livable and environmentally friendly cities in the long term. Additionally, Jorakay Corporation Co., Ltd. presents JORAKAY BIOSPHERE PREMIUM paint, part of the Natural Color group made from natural materials Lime Base, reducing factors contributing to global warming by absorbing carbon dioxide while drying, providing good ventilation and heat transfer, weather-resistant, pollution-resistant, and UV radiation-resistant, with no volatile organic compounds (NON VOCs) and free from carcinogens (No Formaldehyde), safe for health and ready for occupancy within 24 hours, suitable for new painting and renovation projects.
Mr. Supaman added, “We hope that the design, architecture, real estate, and construction product industries will start to see a positive direction after a long stagnation due to the COVID situation. We are beginning to see positive signs from international exhibitors participating in the event, including Italy, Germany, France, Japan, etc. Historically, the architect event has been a platform that can stimulate or gauge economic indicators. As the event organizer, we are confident that Architect'65 will be a grand event under the pandemic control measures set by the CCSA, with an expected attendance of over 300,000 visitors over 6 days, with a more diverse target audience than previous events, due to the involvement of a creative community (Creators) collaborating with architects this time, and an economic impact exceeding 20 billion baht.
