Menam Development Co., Ltd. led by Mr. Decha Tangsit, Executive Chairman, has joined forces with partners including Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sura Patanakiet, Dean of the Faculty of Environment and Resource Studies at Mahidol University; Mr. Siamrat Sutthanukool, Chief Marketing Officer of the Construction Products and Materials Co., Ltd., representing Siam Cement Group (Tahlung) Co., Ltd.; Dr. Chirdsak Amornsuksakul, Managing Director of Sangfa Construction Co., Ltd.; and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tottakool Yomnak, Executive Chairman of Yomnak Consulting Engineers Co., Ltd., to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for collaboration in research and development of Innovation & Construction Technology in the Salaya One Residences project located in Nakhon Pathom Province. This initiative aims to apply modern, environmentally friendly construction innovations and technologies, creating a learning hub while enhancing the living standards of future residences and promoting sustainable quality of life for both residents and the environment.

Mr. Decha Tangsit, Executive Chairman of Menam Development Co., Ltd. stated, "This collaboration represents a partnership between government agencies, top educational institutions in Thailand, and relevant private sectors to jointly develop learning in Thailand's construction industry to grow in line with international standards. Menam Development, as the owner of the Salaya One project, is providing budget support for the project's implementation and acting as a mediator to connect the work of all partners to expand research and development from educational institutions to commercial building applications. This will raise awareness of the importance of green building construction in Thailand, create economic value, and promote long-term job creation for the community."

“Additionally, this collaboration aims to enhance the capabilities of Thai personnel while utilizing knowledge in innovative and advanced construction technology to create environmentally friendly buildings. This will help translate educational concepts into practical applications appropriately, with the objective of creating a learning hub and developing tangible innovations and technologies for green construction throughout the design, construction, and long-term building usage phases. This will lead to the establishment of a model residential project, a Smart Green Building, focusing on Sustainable & Smart Living, while promoting a better and more convenient quality of life for residents in the new normal era, considering the surrounding community and environment sustainably.”

The scope of collaboration includes education, research, and project development to implement construction innovations and technologies in the Salaya One project between Mahidol University and SCG in various aspects:

            1.  Utilizing construction innovations and technologies to enhance work processes, aiming for Green Construction that reduces waste and increases efficiency while considering the environment and surrounding communities.

            2.  Applying technology in residential aspects, including energy-saving measures, to provide consumers with a better living experience in the new normal era.

            3.  Promoting case studies for Mahidol University students while being open to developing and extending solutions between Mahidol University and SCG.

For the construction of the Salaya One project, Menam Development Co., Ltd. has appointed Siam Cement Group (Tahlung) Co., Ltd. as the representative to carry out the construction project under a turnkey contract, covering both building works and other facilities within the project, including labor, materials, tools, and equipment for the project.

They will also be responsible for centralizing technology connections, including various technologies or innovations in the construction process such as CPAC BIM, CPAC Drone Solution, CPAC 3D Printing, SCG Green Building Solution, SCG Solar Roof Solution, and SCG Elder Care Solution, which will be used from design through construction management and building maintenance throughout the building's usage period, as outlined in this agreement. Engineers and architects from Menam Development will also participate in the implementation, with plans to achieve LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification, which is the highest standard for evaluating green buildings by the U.S. Green Building Council, focusing on sustainable energy and environmental design, as well as the quality of life and well-being of residents. The first phase of construction, which includes premium apartments and a hotel, is planned to commence soon.
