GLAND Elevates Thai Real Estate, Fully Embracing the Digital Era in Partnership with Huawei to Develop Smart Digital Township & Intelligent Connectivity with World-Class Technology
Grand Canal Land Public Company Limited (GLAND) has partnered with Huawei Technologies (Thailand) Co., Ltd. to sign a strategic partnership agreement aimed at elevating Thai real estate into the digital era of Thailand 4.0. The collaboration focuses on developing smart offices and digital spaces, emphasizing future living and working environments that integrate the physical and digital worlds, fully connecting ICT and IoT within the real estate sector. This partnership is set to extend to GLAND's affiliated real estate businesses, including office buildings, shopping centers, residential properties, and hotels nationwide in the future.

Ms. Naparat Sriwanwathit, CEO of Grand Canal Land Public Company Limited (GLAND), stated, "Thailand is moving towards a fully digital society, aiming to become a significant digital hub in the ASEAN region under the government’s Thailand 4.0 policy. This partnership with Huawei will enhance our capabilities and bring their expertise to create innovative solutions for our mixed-use projects, including office buildings, shopping centers, residential properties, and hotels in the future. Our goal is to create a smart living city, a modern Smart Digital Township that fosters exponential business growth and elevates the Thai real estate sector to keep pace with the rapidly changing world."
GLAND, which is primarily owned by Central Pattana Public Company Limited, is a developer and manager of real estate, with its main assets located in The Grand Rama 9 project, situated in the heart of the city on approximately 73 rai along Rama 9 Road, adjacent to Ratchadapisek Road, a high-potential area in Bangkok's new business district (The New CBD). The project comprises three main business components: three managed office buildings, namely 1) G Tower, 2) The Nine Tower, and 3) Unilever House, with a total net leasable area exceeding 145,000 square meters; a condominium project for sale, Belle Grand Rama 9, which has completed sales and transfers; and a total net leasable retail area in the office buildings and condominiums of over 20,000 square meters. Additionally, GLAND has four plots of land awaiting development, totaling over 190 rai, located in high-potential areas in Bangkok to support long-term business growth, including 1) vacant land in The Grand Rama 9 project, 2) land in Phaholyothin, which is currently under development for mixed-use projects, and 3) land in Don Mueang, where part of the land is being developed for the Niratti Don Mueang project, which began sales and transfers in 2021, and 4) land in Kapangphet, which is under study for future development.


Dr. Chawapol Jariyawiroj, Managing Director of Huawei Technologies (Thailand) Co., Ltd., commented on this collaboration, saying, "Huawei and GLAND have been close partners for a long time since we officially started our business in Thailand in 1999, with Huawei's headquarters located in the G Tower, which is part of GLAND. Additionally, Huawei launched the Huawei Open Lab Bangkok in 2017 at the same building to help develop digital skills in Thailand, foster innovation, and support the country's goal of becoming a digital hub in ASEAN. We hope this collaboration between Huawei and GLAND will enhance the intelligence of Thailand's real estate sector, aligning with Huawei's mission to support the transition to a digital era and bring digital technology to everyone, every home, and every organization to create a fully connected smart Thailand." The collaboration between GLAND and Huawei aims to develop a comprehensive ecosystem through five key components to create a Smart Digital Township through GLAND's various real estate projects:
1. Smart Building - Developing smart buildings with world-class technology that enhances user convenience and is environmentally friendly.
2. Smart Asset Management - Managing assets using 5G technology, ultra-high-speed Wi-Fi 6 access points, IoT modules, and intelligent detection cameras.
3. Smart Hospitality and Retail - Connecting Fiber Backbone systems to create smart hotels and shopping centers of the future.
4. Smart Campus and Living - Building systems and living spaces focused on safety, including smart parking systems.
5. Intelligent Connectivity - Smart connectivity through AI systems, VDO & Imaging Technology, fiber optics, and cloud data storage.
