Frasers Property Industrial (Thailand) Partners with Panasonic Life Solutions Sales Thailand to Sign MOU for Energy Saving Project Aiming for Sustainable Development Operations
Frasers Property Industrial (Thailand) Co., Ltd. or FPIT, a leader in modern industrial real estate development in Thailand under Frasers Property Thailand Public Company Limited (FPT), has announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Panasonic Life Solutions Sales Thailand (Panasonic) to advance an energy-saving project by replacing high bay lights in factories and warehouses with LED lights. Panasonic has been selected as a business partner following the Green Procurement guidelines, which FPIT and Frasers Property Group prioritize to enhance efficient supply chain management and promote sustainable development across the organization.
FPIT initiated the energy-saving project last July with the objective of reducing greenhouse gas emissions into the atmosphere and helping customers save on utility and maintenance costs, while also supporting them in achieving their energy-saving and sustainability goals.
The transition from metal halide lights to Panasonic LED lights has been well received by customers, as the new lights have a longer lifespan, which helps reduce electronic waste in the long term. They also consume less electricity and emit lower heat during operation, potentially reducing electricity bills by up to 40%. Currently, the company has begun replacing lights in factories and warehouses for customers interested in the project.
The energy-saving initiative is already underway, with a goal to replace lights in all FPIT projects within three years, aiming to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 2.6 times, equivalent to a reduction of 34 million kilograms of carbon dioxide (CO2), which is comparable to planting over 200,000 trees annually.
