Pruksa, a leading housing company in Thailand, has donated 3 rai of land opposite Lerdsin Hospital to establish a temporary field hospital to accommodate red and yellow COVID-19 patients, addressing the shortage of beds. The facility is expected to be operational by October.

Mr. Thongma Vijitpongpun, Chairman and CEO of Pruksa Holding Public Company Limited, stated, "Given the current situation, the number of COVID-19 patients remains high, leading to a shortage of beds and ICU rooms for those needing medical care. Pruksa has collaborated with Lerdsin Hospital, under the Department of Medical Services, Ministry of Public Health, which currently has a large number of COVID-19 patients, exceeding its capacity to provide services. We identified the vacant land opposite the hospital as suitable for constructing a field hospital to alleviate the overcrowding of COVID-19 patients in the hospital."

To contribute to alleviating the crisis faced by the Thai people, Pruksa has donated 3 rai of land for use as a temporary field hospital for COVID-19 patients at no cost. The construction of this field hospital is a collaboration between Pruksa and Lerdsin Hospital, along with other private sector partners, aiming to accommodate a total of 200 patients classified as red and yellow. The Department of Medical Services has already begun construction, which, when completed, will provide 18 beds for red patients and up to 182 beds for yellow patients, with an expected opening in October.

This field hospital will be built according to the standards set by the Ministry of Public Health, including disinfection systems and wastewater treatment systems to ensure the highest safety for patients and medical personnel, as well as all staff in the center and surrounding community. It will also be equipped with necessary devices for patients requiring ventilators, with designated areas for screening and clear separation of red and yellow patient zones. This field hospital will enable patients to access care more quickly while relieving the burden on medical staff in hospitals. The location, being directly opposite Lerdsin Hospital, allows for convenience in case patients experience changes in condition and require emergency assistance or need to use large medical equipment available at Lerdsin Hospital.

Thus, this field hospital represents Pruksa's commitment to being a part of the effort to assist and alleviate the suffering of the Thai people, while also easing the responsibilities of the government, as we collectively navigate the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic in Thailand across all sectors."
