LPP Prepares Livable Community Isolation in 200 Projects to Support Mild COVID-19 Patients in Condo Homes
LPP is preparing the Livable Community Isolation project to support co-owners and residents who may be infected with mild COVID-19, allowing them to isolate and recover at home through Home Isolation (HI) in their own condos, with excellent care and a strong focus on community safety.
Ms. Somsri Techakraisri, Managing Director of LPP Property Management Co., Ltd. (LPP), revealed that the current COVID-19 outbreak has intensified compared to last year, with an average of 20,000 new cases per day nationwide. Coupled with concerns about the availability of hospital beds, medical equipment, ambulances, and healthcare personnel being insufficient for the number of patients, the government has considered allowing mild patients, classified as green patients, to isolate and recover at home (Home Isolation or HI) under the supervision of LPP's medical team. As the management of the condominium association, LPP aims to contribute to society by establishing the “Livable Community Isolation” project to support the increasing number of infected individuals, providing care and assistance to residents in LPP-managed projects, which total over 120,000 households across 200 projects, including those developed by L.P.N. Development Public Company Limited (LPN) and external projects or Non-LPN, to help everyone get through this crisis together.
The preparation for assisting COVID-19 patients in the form of home isolation for those with mild symptoms or classified as green patients has been supported with knowledge and practical guidelines for Home Isolation care from Dr. Nat Fongsamuth, an expert in elderly care from the Thai Red Cross Society and a board member of the Medical Association of Thailand under the Royal Patronage. Online seminars have been organized for the committee members of each condominium association, as well as LPP staff and personnel, to create a shared understanding of the operational approach of “Livable Community Isolation” and to ensure that personnel in all communities are fully prepared to handle the anticipated worsening outbreak in the future.
Dr. Nat stated, “Once patients register for the Home Isolation system of the government, they will receive telemedicine care or communication through devices. The medical team will conduct daily VDO calls with patients to monitor their symptoms and provide three meals, medication, and necessary supplies to the patients. This is all under the budget of the National Health Security Office (NHSO). Currently, screening for infected patients has become easier as the government has allowed self-testing kits (Antigen Test Kit). If a person tests positive and wishes to isolate at home, they should call 1330 or register via QR CODE immediately to enter the NHSO treatment system.”
For the measures to care for and assist patients that LPP has prepared for residents in the project in the form of isolation within their living quarters, cooperation will be coordinated with various healthcare units to allow patients to access the government treatment system under the “Home Isolation” project. LPP will monitor and provide support until the patients feel safe and secure and receive a negative test result.
Ms. Somsri further stated that in terms of operations, LPP has designated staff from each condominium association to assist and facilitate patients with mild or no symptoms (green patients) based on the principle of providing convenience to residents in every aspect, including creating a timeline of patients' symptoms for the past 7-14 days to inform co-owners or residents to monitor their own symptoms, delivering food, medication, and essential daily items. Additionally, housekeeping services will be arranged to collect food waste and infectious waste at scheduled times daily with high safety standards, and assistance will be coordinated with relevant agencies if patients require help, including facilitating visits to doctors or if a patient's condition changes from green to yellow, the management will coordinate with the patient's hospital for treatment while considering the safety of both the patient and all residents.
“For the Livable Community Isolation project, the company emphasizes strict measures to care for and assist patients through rigorous operations, focusing on cleanliness, safety, and infection control for all working staff. Every step of the operation must adhere strictly to the safety standards recommended by experts, while also prioritizing the overall community care to avoid impacting neighbors, implementing risk prevention measures for community safety, allowing everyone to coexist happily and without worry, in line with LPP's principle of a livable community: ‘Together, Caring, Sharing’,” Ms. Somsri stated.
“This crisis is a national agenda that requires collective effort to overcome, aiming to reduce the number of daily patients as much as possible. In addition to the Livable Community Isolation project established to support residents with mild symptoms who are isolating themselves at home, we also prioritize preventing infections within the project through communication with residents and clients across all communication channels to relay important and necessary information while promoting the importance of heightened vigilance,”
