The Government Housing Bank (GHB) responds to the Ministry of Finance and the Bank of Thailand's policy by launching 2 urgent measures to assist customers who continue to be affected by income loss due to COVID-19 for a period of 3 months, from August to October 2021. The measures include Measure 15, which suspends principal and interest payments for customers with a normal account status, and Measure 16, which suspends principal and interest payments for debtors with NPL status (who have missed payments for more than 3 consecutive months) or are in the process of debt restructuring. Registration can be done via the GHB ALL or GHB Buddy applications on Line from July 19 to August 29, 2021.

Mr. Chatchai Sirilai, Managing Director of the Government Housing Bank (GHB) stated that the Ministry of Finance and the Bank of Thailand (BOT) have instructed state financial institutions to implement urgent measures to assist SME entrepreneurs and individual debtors affected by the heightened measures to control the spread of the COVID-19 virus. Therefore, GHB has developed 2 measures to directly assist customers affected, including both employers and employees in businesses that have been forced to close due to government measures, through the “GHB Together for National Development Project 2021.” This covers customers who have been affected in terms of income from their professions/businesses due to the COVID-19 outbreak and are unable to make loan payments. The details of the assistance are as follows:

Measure 15 [M 15]: Suspension of principal and interest payments for 3 months from August 1 to October 31, 2021, for customers with a normal account status and not under debt restructuring or legal status.

Measure 16 [M 16]: Suspension of principal and interest payments for 3 months from August 1 to October 31, 2021, for debtors with NPL status (who have missed payments for more than 3 consecutive months) or are in the process of debt restructuring.

For the interest that is suspended for 3 months during the implementation of Measures 15 and 16, customers can gradually pay it off before the loan contract's due date or close the account. GHB will open registration for customers to express their intention to participate in the measures via the GHB ALL or GHB Buddy applications on Line from July 19, 2021, at 9:00 AM to August 29, 2021, at 8:00 PM. Customers must upload evidence confirming their income impact through the GHB ALL or GHB Buddy applications for the bank's consideration, such as pay slips, certificates from the employer, photographs, or statements.
