On January 26, 2021, a report from the Government House stated that the Cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister General Prayuth Chan-o-cha was held.

The Cabinet approved three tax measures.

1. The deadline for filing and paying personal income tax for the year 2020 with the Revenue Department has been extended by three months. Originally set to end on March 31, 2021, it has been moved to June 30, 2021.

2. The land and building tax rate for the year 2021 will be reduced by 90% to only 10% of the original rate. This applies to all types of land and buildings, whether used for residential purposes, agriculture, vacant land, or for commercial and industrial use.

3. The measure to reduce transfer fees for purchasing real estate for homes priced up to 3 million baht has been extended to support the real estate business and reduce costs for citizens looking to buy homes. The registration fee for transferring real estate and condominiums will be reduced from 2% of the appraised value to 0.01%.

Additionally, the mortgage registration fee for real estate and condominiums will be reduced from 1% of the mortgage value to 0.01%.

This will significantly reduce costs; for example, purchasing a house priced at 3 million baht, the transfer and mortgage fees would originally be as high as 60,000 baht, but will now only be 300 baht.
