Government Savings Bank is urgently implementing measures to assist over 1.9 million loan customers in the highest control areas, which include 28 provinces. Customers affected by the new wave of COVID-19 can apply for a principal payment suspension and reduced interest payments for a period of 3 to 6 months, with online registration starting on Friday, January 8, 2021.

Mr. Witthaya Rattanakorn, Director of Government Savings Bank stated that customers in the designated highest control areas, or red zones, according to the orders from the COVID-19 Situation Administration Center, can register for assistance measures.

Customers facing difficulties due to the ongoing new wave of the pandemic can apply for assistance. The bank will consider allowing customers to suspend principal payments and only pay interest, or request a reduction in interest payments, depending on the severity of their situation. This measure will last for 3 to 6 months.
