Pruksa Grows Amid Market Slowdown, First Half Revenue Hits 19.66 Billion Baht with Profit of 2.62 Billion Baht, Announces Dividend of 0.60 Baht
Pruksa reports continued growth in the first half of the year despite a slowing market, generating total revenue of 19.66 billion baht, a 3% increase, with a profit of 2.62 billion baht, an 8% growth compared to the previous year. Sales in the second quarter have increased, with a backlog of 17.43 billion baht awaiting revenue recognition this year. The company has announced an interim dividend of 0.60 baht per share.
Ms. Supattra Paepiemsub, Deputy CEO of Pruksa Holding Public Company Limited, revealed the first half results, stating, “The company achieved total revenue of 19.66 billion baht, a 3% increase, with a profit of 2.62 billion baht, an 8% increase compared to the same period last year, and sales amounting to 23.37 billion baht. The increase in revenue and profit indicates that Pruksa continues to grow amidst a slowing economic environment. Additionally, the company has a total backlog of 36.94 billion baht, with 17.43 billion baht expected to be recognized as revenue this year. Given the growth in performance during the first half, Pruksa has approved an interim dividend for the year 2019 at a rate of 0.60 baht per share.
In the second quarter, Pruksa revitalized its sales atmosphere by launching the “Pruksa Sukhumvit – Bangpu” project, which generated over 810 million baht in sales within just two days, breaking the sales record for Pruksa's low-rise homes and marking the highest sales in the low-rise real estate market for the second quarter. Additionally, the launch of the riverside condominium “Chapter Charoenkrung – Riverside” during the open house event in early August attracted significant interest from high-end customers, leading to a rapid sell-out of the entire project, valued at over 4.8 billion baht.
Overall, the real estate market in Bangkok and its vicinity in the first half of the year was valued at 200.65 billion baht, a 13% decrease from the previous year. Meanwhile, the transfer of ownership in Bangkok and its vicinity during April to May amounted to 41.91 billion baht, down 24%, clearly indicating a market slowdown. For the second half of the year, Pruksa plans to strengthen its strategies to align with current market trends and economic conditions, with plans to launch 26 new projects valued at 26.95 billion baht. The company will continue to focus on targeting real demand customers who genuinely seek homes for living, combined with a comprehensive sales strategy through Sales Excellence. Furthermore, the company has implemented effective cost management, all of which will help achieve the sales target of 50 billion baht and revenue of 45 billion baht as set,” Ms. Supattra stated.
