"Conwood" Showcases URBAN ENERGY CAFÉ & LIFESTYLE Innovation at Architect Expo '61, Combining 2 Lifestyle Trends, Competing with Creative Booth Concepts of the 4.0 Era, Highlighting the Latest Innovative Product, Conwood Eave Fit, Targeting Revenue Growth as the Economy Fully Recovers.

"Conwood" showcases innovation under the concept “URBAN ENERGY CAFÉ & LIFESTYLE” at Architect Expo '61, competing with ideas from over 800 companies. It combines two lifestyle trends: “exercise + café,” creating an extraordinary booth designed for a modern sports equipment store that meets the needs of urban dwellers in the 4.0 era. This reinforces the company's philosophy of conducting business in a way that is friendly to both humans and the environment sustainably. The highlight is the latest innovative product, “Conwood Eave Fit”, which supports modern roof designs and aims to generate 10 million baht in revenue this year, with a target for 2018 to see significant growth as the economy recovers fully.

Kitti Boonprakong, Vice President of Conwood Co., Ltd., part of the Siam Cement Group, shared insights on participating in the "Architect Expo '61" under the intriguing concept of “A Year of the Extraordinary.” This includes challenges from globalization, climate change, and the transition from rural to urban society, emphasizing the creation of local architecture within contemporary Thai lifestyles, termed “Vernacular Living.” The event, titled 'Beyond Ordinary,' features over 800 companies showcasing innovative works.

“Conwood has dedicated time to studying the lifestyle of urban dwellers today, leading to the idea presented in this booth, which has been entered into the creative category “URBAN ENERGY CAFÉ & LIFESTYLE”. This combines two popular trends: the exercise trend seen in weekly events like marathons and cycling, which promote physical health, with the café lifestyle that serves as both a workspace and a relaxing area beneficial for mental health, effectively addressing urban lifestyle needs within a space of 81 square meters.

The presentation format creatively showcases a sports equipment store that includes a café. The store features innovative use of Conwood wood for decoration, making it interesting, unique, and modern, with a ramp dividing different zones such as product display, activity areas, and green spaces for relaxation.

Conwood aims to address essential needs beyond aesthetics, focusing on the practical benefits of usage. Every decoration is crafted with Conwood wood, which is friendly to both humans and the environment sustainably, reinforcing the business philosophy of maintaining ecological balance. Utilizing leading technology from Switzerland, the materials are free from toxins, emphasizing the efficient use of energy and natural resources. Conwood products are high-quality decorative materials for architecture, meticulously selected from Portland cement and cellulose fibers, characterized by beauty, ease of use like natural wood, durability, termite resistance, and fireproofing, catering to all architectural and landscape design needs while significantly reducing the use of natural wood to preserve the world's beauty.

The highlight of the booth is the new innovative product, Conwood Eave Fit, designed to accommodate modern roof styles (Lean-to Roof), ensuring a neat and strong finish with flashing, reducing issues with warping due to changing weather conditions. It is easy to install with a single eave board, extending the lifespan of the roof structure and being environmentally friendly, as Conwood wood contains high-quality cement and natural fibers, eliminating the need for deforestation and containing no asbestos, which is a cause of cancer.

Kitti further stated, “The market for wood substitutes is expected to grow, both domestically and for export, to replace real wood and other materials. The variety of wood substitutes is increasing, meeting user needs in various forms. Additionally, the market and user perspectives are beginning to see fiber cement as more than just a wood substitute. Conwood will continue to introduce new products in both general use and decorative product categories, focusing on quality, design, and aesthetics, including launching CONWOOD Color to better meet user needs. Besides Conwood Eave Fit, which is a highlight product, there is also the Conwood Two-in-One Eave, a best-selling item that truly meets user needs, as Conwood is the first to sell a two-in-one eave board that gives the appearance of two boards combined, along with the Conwood color products added to meet customer demands in the decorative product category.

“The market for wood substitute products in 2018 is expected to grow continuously at about 5% from 2017, with new products showing strong market potential, including Conwood Eave Fit and C-Lock wall panels,” Kitti stated.

The Conwood Color product line is also expected to grow, with projected sales of about 10 million baht this year, averaging 1.5 million baht per month. Initially, plans are in place for Conwood colors to grow alongside the growth of Conwood's various wood products, as a product that complements the decorative product line more comprehensively.

At last year’s Architect Expo '60, Conwood Co., Ltd. won the award for Best Green Booth under the concept of The Pace of Nature, harmonizing the shapes of homes with warm earth-tone colors, creating a space of happiness and integrating enjoyment with the living environment using environmentally friendly products. Additionally, it received an honorable mention for the Innovative Product category for the Conwood C-Lock wall panel (G-SERIES), designed for decorating residential walls that require a wood-like feel, using a no-screw installation technique that allows for quick, beautiful, and cost-effective installation.
